Willard J Zellar was born at Hermon, St. Lawrence County, New York, on 21 April 1923.1,2,3 He was the son of Alton Zellar and Agnes Newvine.1,3 Willard J Zellar died at Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, Jefferson County, New York, late in the afternoon on 29 May 1991 at age 68.2,3 He was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa, Jefferson County, New York, on 2 June 1991.3
He attended Hermon schools and served as an antitank gun crewman during World War II from
January 1943 to November 1945, seeing duty in Sicily, Northern France and the Rhineland. The couple operated dairy farms in the Philadelphia and Theresa areas. Mr. Zeller was also employed at the St. Regis Paper Co., Deferiet (now Champion International Corp.). He retired from the James River Corp., Natural Dam, in 1988, after 29 years' service. He was a member of the United Paper Workers Union.3 He resided at Gouveneur, St. Lawrence County, New York, on 29 May 1991.2
