Thomas Bancroft died at Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 12 June 1718 at age 68.5,6 He was buried at Old Cemetery, Wakefield, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.5
      "an officer in King Philip's Indian War, and a selectman several years. He lived in the westerly part of Reading, where was the ancient Bancroft homestead. He built the fourth house in West Parish near the Abr'm Temple place."7
