There are no similar conveyances by Samuel nor Joshua Huntress who were then probably dead. The deeds were recorded in 1792 (Rockingham Deeds). In 1793 Leighton conveyed the farm formerly of William Huntress to Gideon Walker (Rockingham Deeds)..2

Joseph Adams.3 Joel Leighton died on 27 October 1810 at age 58.
     Joel Leighton took the Association Test at Newington, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire, in 1776.4 He resided at Newington, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire. On 15 March 1786 at Exeter, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire he advertized notice that the heirs of William Huntress petitioned to partition the forty acres of land in Newington.5 On 16 March 1786 at Portsmouth, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire as attorney to the administratrix he advertized requesting settlement of debts to the estate of William Huntress.6 Joel Leighton was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Newington, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire. In his family were two males over 16 years of age (Joel and unk), four under (Thomas, William and unk), and six females (Elizabeth, Temperance and unk).7 Joel Leighton was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Exeter, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire. In his family were two males between 10 and 16 (Thomas and William), one between 16 and 26 (unk), one 45 and over (Joel), two females under 10 (unk), two between 10 and 16 (unk), one between 16 and 26 (Temperance), and one 45 and over (Elizabeth, 42).8 Joel was a joiner at Exeter, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire, in 1805. Administration on his estate was granted on 28 February 1811 to Elizabeth, his widow, John Smith of Exeter and Andrew Gilman of Newmarket, sureties.9

     Solomon Huntress was born at Newington, New Hampshire, on 16 January 1749.2 He married at Newmarket, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire,, on 17 March 1777, at age 28, Lucy Burleigh, age 22, daughter of Jacob Burleigh and Abigail (?), ceremony performed by Nathaniel Ewer, clergyman.3,4,1 Solomon Huntress disappeared in New York State after 4 August 1800.5
     Solomon Huntress was a merchant.5 The births of the first four children and the tenth are recorded as children of Solomon and Lucy Huntress, of the others as children of Solomon and Lucy Hunt.6 In 1775 he was a soldier in the Alarm List in Capt. Sias's Company for London.7 He was a soldier in the Revolution in Capt. James Shepherd's Company from Boscawen on 2 July 1776 and was paid 10/3/0 for advance wages, bounty, and billeting.8 He resided at Newmarket, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire.5 He resided at Canterbury, Merrimack Co, New Hampshire, in 1778. After 1781 Solomon Huntress used the name Hunt. He resided at Strafford, Orange Co, Vermont, between 1781 and 1799. Solomon Hunt was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Strafford, Orange Co, Vermont. In his family were one male over 16 years (Solomon), three under (Samuel, Jacob, and John), and five females (Lucy, Anna, Abigail, Lucy and Mary).9 Solomon Hunt was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census at Norwich, Windsor Co, Vermont. In his family were one male less than 10 years of age (Burleigh, Solomon or Joseph), one between 10 and 16 (John), two between 16 and 26 (Samuel and Jacob), one 45 and over (Solomon), one female between 10 and 16 (Sarah, Lucy or Mary), one between 16 and 26 (Abigail), and one 45 and over (Lucy).10
