     The will of John Pickering dated 4 January 1790, proved 17 Mar. 1790, mentions "my daughter Abigail Huntress", Noah Huntress surety on executor's bond.^1,5

Leonard Huntress was born at Portsmouth, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire, on 22 November 1811.^{7,8,9,10,11,2,3,12,13} He of Lowell, Mass. married at Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts,, on 22 September 1833, at age 21, Lydia Ann McKinnon, age 21, of Portsmouth, daughter of William McKinnon and Elizabeth Pickernell, ceremony performed by R. H. Deming, clergyman.^{14,1,2,3,15,16} Hon. Leonard Huntress died at his residence at Tewksbury, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts, in the morning on 19 July 1885 at age 73.^17,6 He was buried at Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts, on 21 July 1885.¹⁷ Funeral services for Hon. A courteous, commanding, genial, and hospitable Christian gentleman. He left a record of clean, lengthy, and most efficient public service.⁶ Hon.
