In his family were one male (Joseph) and one female (Sobriety), each aged 45 and over.8 His will dated 12 June 1804, proved 13 Aug 1804, mentions his wife, unnamed, to whom he gave a life estate in all his property remainder to his sons in equal shares, daughter, wife of Thomas Trickey, daughter, wife of Zebulon Willey, and sons George, John and Samuel, George executor.5

Joseph Adams.1 He (of Newington) married, first, at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire,, on 22 September 1750, Elizabeth Pearson, of Hampton, daughter of James Pearson, ceremony conducted by Rev. Joseph Adams.3 Ensign Christopher Huntress (of Newington) married, second, at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire,, on 19 August 1770, Abigail Hodgdon, age 36, of Berwick, daughter of Alexander Hodgdon and Mary Shackford, ceremony performed by Rev. Joseph Adams.4 Ensign Christopher Huntress died after 1800.5
     Ensign Christopher Huntress was commissioned in the New-Hampshire Regiment of Col. Samuel Moore, Esq. as an Ensign 1 March 1744.6 He was admitted to Full Communion at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 22 April 1744.7 He was a soldier in King George's War in Capt. Fellows's Company, Col. Moore's Regiment of Foot. He entered service 13 Feb 1745 and was discharged 31 Jul, serving 6 mo., receiving 2 lb. per mo. and 12 lb. total wages on 20 November 1745.8,9,10 He was a petitioner at Newington, New Hampshire 1 December 1748 for grant of a tract of land for a township on the Merrimack River.11 He resided at Newmarket, New Hampshire, in 1752.12 He resided at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in 1756.12 Christopher Huntress served in the "Crown Point Expedition" under Col. John Hart in Capt. John Pickering's Company entering service 28 April 1758 and discharged 10 Aug 1758, entered again 11 Aug 1758 and discharged 30 Oct 1758.13 He was a soldier in French and Indian War in 1760.15,12,14 He was taxed at Gorham, Cumberland Co, Maine between 1763 and 1773.16 He resided at Pigwacket (Fryeburg), Oxford Co, Maine, in 1764.12 He was taxed mason at Portsmouth, Rockingham Co, New Hampshire, in 1767. He resided at Falmouth, Cumberland Co, Maine, in 1768.12 He and his family were warned out of at Falmouth, Cumberland Co, Maine, April 1768 and returned to the neighborhood of Fryeburg, Me..17,12 He resided at Conway, Strafford Co, New Hampshire, in 1775.18 He was a soldier in the Revolution listed as "Able to Bear Arms From Sixteen, and Upwards", from Conway on 10 June 1775 and was marked as having gone to war.18 He took the Association Test at Conway, Strafford Co, New Hampshire, on 9 June 1776. 19.20 He was a soldier in the Revolution in Capt. John Drew's Company serving for Dover, age 50, paid a bounty of 50 lb. and mileage of 16 s. 8 p. on 10 May 1777.21 Ensign Christopher Huntress was a mason at Fryeburg, Oxford Co, Maine, in 1780.12 He is not in the Census of 1790.

Joseph Adams.3 Joseph Lord married, secondly, at Berwick, York Co, Maine,, on 18 July 1753, at age 24, Prudence Hodsdon.4 Joseph Lord died on 21 August 1800 at age 72.1

Capt. Richard Lord1

b. 1 March 1684/85, d. 1754
     Capt. Richard Lord was born at Kittery, York Co, Maine, on 1 March 1684/85.1,2 He married in December 1707, at age 22, Mary Goodwin, age 16.1,2 Capt. Richard Lord died in 1754.3
     "He was named, it seems, for Richard Lord of Hartford, Ct., the first of that name in New England, who at the age of twenty-one years sailed from the port of London, Eng., in 1632. He was made a freeman at Cambridge, Mass., March 4, 1635. He settled in Hartford, Ct., in 1636. He was commander of the first company of troopers in the Indian conflicts in that part of New England. He died at New London, Ct., interred in the old burying ground. He was a brother of Robert Lord, mariner, of Boston, Mass., who owned large tracts of land in York County, Me. He was a "Representative to ye great and General Court at Boston, 1657-1661." He died May 17, 1762, aged 51 years."1

     Darling Huntress was baptized at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 7 June 1730 by Rev. Joseph Adams.1 He married at First Church, Berwick, York Co, Maine,, on 6 December 1751, at age 21, Love Hearl, age 16, daughter of Etherington Hearl and Hannah Goodwin, and sister of his brother George's wife Patience, ceremony performed by Rev. Jeremiah Wise.2,3,4 Darling Huntress died at South Berwick, York Co, Maine, on 8 March 1815 at age 84.
     In 1752 Christopher3 Huntress conveyed to his son Darling4 10 acres and a house at Newington which Darling reconveyed in 1757.5,6 He and Love, his wife, owned the Covenant at Church of Newington, Newington, New Hampshire, on 29 October 1752.7 Darling was a bricklayer at Berwick, York Co, Maine, in 1756. In 1779 he was a member of the Berwick Committee to fix the prices of commodities. Darling "Huntrus" was listed as the head of a family on the 1790 Census at Berwick, York Co, Maine. In his family were three males over 16 years of age (Darling, Dominicus and Robert), none under, and four females (Love, Hannah, Love and unk).8 Darling Huntress was listed as the head of a family on the 1810 Census at Berwick, York Co, Maine. In his family were one male 45 and over (Darling), one female between 10 and 16 (unk), one between 16 and 26 (unk), and two 45 and over (Hannah and unk).9
