Montreal 11th July 1787
Evidence on the Claim of James See late of Saratoga Province of New York.
Claimant Sworn, Says he resided at Mashish in the Fall 1783, was there all that winter, sent a claim by Mr. Cuyler. Is a native of America, lived at Saratoga, Joined the British in 1776, Served all the war as a Private, - Was discharged in 1783, Resides at Sorel Produces his discharge.
Property Has 150 Acres of Leases Land , Had a promise of a Lease in 1774 from Robert Livingston, had been settled on the Lands before, he went on with his Improvements, cleared 26 Acres, Built a House and Barrack. He left his wife in possession of his Place,- his Cattle and Moveables were taken in 1777.-Two Horses, two Cows, one Yearling Utensils, Furniture, Corn, Grain. Produces Affidavits from two persons to his Property, reciting all the particulars and valuing them. Major Jessup being present Certifies to his Loyalty.
