is a genealogical study of the SEE surname along the east bank of the upper Hudson Valley in the nineteenth century (mostly Dutchess, Columbia, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties in New York, later migrating to western NY, MI and beyond). Although the name originated in Westchester County, this book concentrates on the branches of the family that left Westchester before 1750.
Here is a link to the index of Hudson Valley SEEs and to two excerpts (One about a murder in the family) and another about a killing in which the alleged perp was acquitted!). The total size of the book is 300 letter-size pages, and there are about 40 photographs and other other illustrations. For information on how to purchase the book, please e-mail the siteowner.
If your SEE "heritage" is from Hardy Co. West Virginia (marrying YOAKUM, ROACH, etc.) then the Hudson Valley Sees are unrelated to yours. J. Lynn See and Mike Ellis have written a book on the southern German-descended branch and they offer it for sale. J. Lynn's e-mail address is uksee@kfbol.com.
The siteowner will post contact/purchase information for other books on this page on request.
