Chapter Goals and Activities:

 

·        Serve as a forum to aid in the sharing and dissemination of information regarding operational meteorology between private and public sector meteorologists, hydrologists, the academic community and weather enthusiasts

 

·        Enhance communications between private and public sector

 

·        Meetings held 2 to 3 times yearly at various science facilities throughout Southern New England

 

·        Co-sponsor of the Southern New England Weather Conference, hosted by National Weather Service, Taunton

 

What is the National Weather Association?

 

The National Weather Association is:

 

·        Membership-oriented, providing a strong professional return to its members for time and effort given

 

·        Chartered to promote the interests of operational meteorology and related activities

 

·        Governed by elected officers and councilors drawn from the entire membership

 

·        A volunteer, non-profit organization

 

·        Open to anyone 18 years of age and over interested in weather
