Scrub - Sunday Best, Monday...

Scrub was such an awesome experience! I started this band with vocalist/guitarist Mark Manning. I played drums, and we quickly found bassist Mike Fischer. We filmed this music video sometime in 2000. Check out my awesome bleached out hair!

"After The Storm" by Asphyxia

Left to Right: Jeremy, Jason, Matt, and Ian
(check out my awesome 90's black vest!)

Asphyxia was the first band I ever recorded with. We were just kids (I was 17 when we recorded this!), but we were thrilled to be recording with Andy Patalan (who now plays guitar for Sponge). The band was Jeremy Galimburti on vocals, me on guitars, Matt Drenning on bass, and Jason Gourley on drums.

"Alone With You" by Outta The Belly

Left to Right: Amy, Rachel, Carolyn, Jim, Will and Ian

Outta The Belly was a very cool female-fronted rock band that I played bass for on and off from 2001 to 2003. I played TONS of shows with these guys, but we didn't do much recording. This is a demo of a great song written by Amy Timbers, who is the guitarist/vocalist/songwriter of the band. I always loved the groove of this song...playing bass with these guys was a blast!  Amy's still performing -- check her stuff out at www.myspace.com/outtathebelly!

"Sunday Best, Monday..." by Scrub

I played drums in Scrub... this is me in 1999.

Ahh, college. The late 90's. Grunge. I was the drummer in this band (yup, I've done it all). My longtime friend Mike Fischer played bass, and my high school buddy Mark Manning played guitar and sang.

"Ripples of Grace" by The Hollywood Fugitives

Left to Right: Mike, Kris, Tod, and Ian

This was a very cool time for me. My good friend Mike Fischer and I formed The Hollywood Fugitives right around the time I graduated from Eastern Michigan University. We recruited my cousin, Tod "Foxxo" Schlegelmilch for vocals, and drummer Kris Hitchcock, with the goal of writing edgy poppy hard rock. This is my favorite song we wrote. I remember putting the chords together in Mike's loft, and Tod writing the lyrics on the spot in about 10 minutes. We never did a proper recording, but this demo with give you and idea of what we sounded like. The band was: Tod - vocals, me - guitars, Mike - bass, Kris - drums.
