- EKG Rikk Beatty RB7NWH
Rikk was kind enough to send in images of his 7-string, entirely
custom made to his spec by Eddie Kolesar. Thanks Rikk!
- Ibanez Jem 7VSBL with Vai Graphic Custom
- Caused quite a commotion online this one.
I think it's a bit too much (wouldn't want Vai kissing me every
time I played with my teeth) but some fan somewhere will be very
happy. EMG pups: no thanks.
- Ibanez 'Unauthorized G3' Chromeboy
- So he's calling it the G3 guitar because
it combines the Satch (JS 10th) body, the Vai (7VBK) neck and
the Petrucci (Air Norton, Steve's Special) pickups. Interesting
mongrel.
- Ibanez 'Jen'
- BucketBot on Jemsite covered his stripped
Floral in pictures of Jenny McCarthy, hence the 'Jen'.
- Ibanez RG3070 Rudi Buttas Custom
- Looks like there's only one of these in
existence. Check out the green fingerboard and... are those gold
frets?! Thanks to owner Dave Richardson for sending in pics/info
on his lovely ax.
- Jungle Jem
- All made from seperately acquired parts.
And all very nice, except for the pickup rings which make it
stand out a mile from the real Jem range.
- Ibanez Nuno Bettencourt Prototype
- Allegedly made for Nuno while he was being
courted by different companies for the endorsement deal that
eventually went to Washburn. If this was the Ibanez effort, I
can see why...
- Ibanez S Prestige NAMM Custom
- Nice ride, but falsely titled for eBay
purposes apparently. Turns out it's nothing more than a gool
ol' S1520 with a private paint job...
- Ibanez Radius Limited Edition
- Never sure if this is a legit finish or
not. It's lots of tiny album covers over the entire Radius body,
once again, no real model name known.
- EKG Universe TR Custom
- Just look at it. If you could just get
an Ibanez logo on the headstock...
- EKG UV7WH Custom
- Another one of Eddie's fine creations,
this time based on a Universe version of the famous Jem 7VWH,
with a little bit of PBK thrown in (fretboard).
- Ibanez 440 Power
- That's not a typo. This is the very rare
precursor to the well-known 540 Power! No trem cavity! No throw
switches! No angled heel! No diamond side cutaway! Fat JS-type
neck! Neeto!
- Ibanez RG550 Blue Floral Pattern
- Apparently inspired by the BFP Jem, this
custom job turned out okay although the pattern is a bit, um,
ferny.
- Ibanez S Custom S-H
- Freaky (but good looking) S-Series mod.
Rendered somewhat unoperational by a replacement neck that has
no locking nut on an Edge-equpped guitar.
- Ibanez Jem 777 in 'Blood Red'
- A really good looking mod of a genuine
Ibanez Jem body, patched together with spare RG parts. As a new
color, the whole thing looks much better than the $129 Yamaha
look of the new Jem 7VSBL.
- Mutilated 'Steve Vai' Ibanez
- I can't even tell what this was originally,
but the guy was trying to sell it like it was a real Jem. Very
nasty monkey grip mod - nice!
- Ibanez Jem Psychedelic
- If Joe Satriani can scribble all over
his guitars with marker pens, why can't we? Certainly unique.
- Ibanez RG770 'Starry Night'
- Pretty custom job done by the owner using
an art print of Starry Night and a clearcoat from Universal Jems.
- Jem on Fire
- See psychotic shut-ins from England use
everything from flaming aerosol sprays to Absynthe in order to
produce the world's first Ibanez Jem 777BBQ. No, really, see
it.
- Ibanez Jem 777MC 'Passion & Warfare'
- Jerry, known to Ibanez fans as the man
behind The Ibanez Register,
has commissioned the best looking Jem I've ever seen. Swirled
by specialists ATD,
the paint scheme simulates Vai's famous Passion & Warfare
UV. I'd take this over a DNA.
- Ibanez JPM Multicolor Swirl Custom
JPM MC1
- Famous swirler Herc Fede combined the
Picasso graphics of the JPM John Petrucci guitars with the Steve
Vai swirl in some rockin' MC colors. AND he laid in a
custom pyramid/rosewood fretboard.
- Kermit
- Features a Jem-copy body built by Guilford
Guitar Works which looks to be pretty good. I hate the pickguard,
but it's got no middle pickup - get tremelo pickin'! Owned by
Jemsiter, Jimm VeuCasovic.
- The (Un)official Jemsite Jem
- Another fabricated Jem-copy body. This
one has a lovely story though, as each element of the guitar
came from different members of Jemsite,
so in a way it was a group project.
- Ibanez Jem 7PBK modified
- Matt got a superb effect simply by sanding
off some of his PBK's paint and swapping the pups, switches and
pickguard. I really think it looks great. Any more pics, Matt?
- Jem 777LNG copy
- Non-Ibanez body of unknown origin. If
you look at the pictures, you can see that the whole thing doesn't
fit together too well.
- Ibanez RG USA Custom: 'Pamelina'
- The same Pamelina has been on eBay a couple
of times. It features killer custom artwork of a semi naked girl
behind a series of purple diamonds.
- Ibanez STWBK
- A double-neck Saber of which the seller
says only 30 were made, retailing at $3299.99! It's worth checking
out the pictures just for the comedy barn door-sized case...
- Ibanez Jem 777DY
- This poor old triple-7 somehow lost a
good inch of wood off the bass horn. The owner just painted the
stump yellow and installed a new strap button on the end.
Ouch.
- Ibanez Jem 77GMC
- Although only about 330 Green Multicolors
were made, it's not that unusual to see one on eBay. This one's
just here 'cause they're gorgeous and it's got a nice big patch
of damage on the back.
- Ibanez Jem 7BSB
- A somewhat over-enthusiastic picking 'technique'
is surely to blame for the disfigurment this thrashed BSB has
suffered.
- Handmade non-Ibanez Jem bodies
- These are fantastic. The guy who makes
them sells them regularly on eBay for around $250 and they appear
incredibly well made. Ready for a nice stain job or a swirl and
a 770 neck.
- Ibanez JPM P1
- This actual guitar was the first one I ever bid on, but nobody
broke the reserve and it went unsold. That means I'm still looking
for a good P1 folks! And NO, I don't know the girl in the photo.
- Ibanez JS10th Anniversary 'Chromeboy'
- Very sweet chrome JS just like Joe himself plays. Still nicer
than the Crystal Planet see-thru model, with a price tag to match.
- Ibanez Maxxas
- Until recently I didn't believe these had ever made it out
of ten year old Ibanez catalogs and into stores, but occasionally
one shows up for sale -- tragically cheaply -- on eBay.
- Ibanez Maxxas
- See! Here's another one. The Maxxas guitars have hollow bodies,
so they apprently sound very different from other Ibanez models.
Nice collectibles but -- ack! -- painted necks! No!
- Ibanez 7 String 'Nightmare Before Christmas'
- Or 'When Guitar Customization Goes Bad'. Thank god he only
did this to a common 7-string and not a Universe. Shiver.
- Ibanez Jem 'Neville'
- Neville is a great natural finish Jem that Ibanez put together
for Steve Vai, which he and Mike Kineally used on the G3 tour.
(You can see it on the DVD.) Neville was sold at auction, with
the proceeds going to charitable causes.
- Ibanez Universe PWH
- You don't see enough of these. I like this one because it's
got no strings and you can see the Edge collapsed way into the
body in one photo and the guy wasn't even going to string it
before shipping: "sorry, no strings."
- Ibanez RG USA Custom
- Wonderful fiery quilted maple body and the much suppressed
'tensionless neck' on this 1995 custom.
- Ibanez RG550 'Jem' conversion
- Brightly colored knobs, pink PAFs and a very good monkey
grip have helped transform this 550 into a good looking near-Jem.
I'd rather have this than a Jem Junior (555) any day.
- Ibanez 540PII
- There simply aren't enough of these to be found in the world...
which is why it's so cool that Nuno got some great detailed pictures
done of his spotless 540PII and sent them in.
- Ibanez RG570CTTB custom
- Sold by one of eBay's main Ibanez sellers, ytsejam7. Custom
gold pickguard, one Dimarzio The Breed pickup, scalloped fingerboard
and natural body finished in tung oil.
- Ibanez 540P with Monkey Grip
- I have a 'thing' for the 540P since it
was my first pro guitar and you don't see them very much. This
one's got a great monkey grip cut into it, something I often
considered doing to my
own before getting some proper Jems!
- Ibanez 540P with ATD Swirl
- ATD gave away a free swirl paint job as a competition prize
at Jemfest 2001 and this is the result: a multicolored 540P.
- Ibanez 540P
- Absolutely stock 540P or Ibanez Power
as we used to call them, in white like Joe Satriani's on the
cover of Not Of This Earth. No customizations but I TOLD you
I had a thing for them.
- Ibanez 540P
- Strange version of the Power which I've never seen for sale.
Pink finish, single humbucker, 24 frets, binding, shark tooth
inlay, no toggle switches -- all of these features are non-standard.
Found this one here.
- Ibanez Jem MC sweatshirt
- Low-run swirled sweatshirt made by Ibanez to promote the
multicolour (MC) range of guitars, with the Ibanez logo. This
was won by my Italian Jemsite
buddy, Nuno!
