Sadly this pretty guitar had it's official Ibanez history fabricated. The original seller's spiel follows, but I have since been contacted by a gent whom I know to be intimately familiar with Ibanez/Hoshino, who saw the description here and set me straight. This is really just an S1520 that was indeed painted by Dan Lawrence, but not in any commissioned-by-Ibanez-for-NAMM sort of way, purely privately. The word is that the rest of the NAMM story (and that RRP) was made up simply to drive big bucks out of yet another unlucky eBayer. Tisk and indeed tisk. Ah well, it's still gorgeous, and there's still only one of them, so whoever ended up with this shouldn't be too unhappy. Thanks for the tip - you know who you are! -- Gray
