Jude Dougherty was the first layman appointed dean of the prestigious School of Philosophy at the Catholic University of America. He has served as president of the American Catholic Philosophical Association and The Metaphysical Society. He has been editor of The Review of Metaphysics for some twenty years. He is one of the two North American fellows of the Pontifical Academy of St. Thomas Aquinas.
