IFDG Mission Statement
The Independent Fight Directors Guild exists to maintain active lines of communication between industry fight professionals, and to offer an open forum to those individuals who are seeking a less structured atmosphere. In addition, we also serve as an online meeting place for those individuals who, due to such qualifiers as location, have limited access to their fellow fight performers.
The IFDG is a collaborative group with no hierarchical power structure. The IFDG was created to celebrate and address the needs of the professional fight industry individual, to make available to him or her the vast array of resources that each member brings to the organization, and to enable Fight Directors of differing backgrounds to exchange information and insight with one another in an arena of mutual respect.
Our "Independent" moniker means that we, both singly and as a group, are affiliated with the organization, but working separately from one another. This simply means that we are a collection of individuals, and our affiliation with one another is based both on our equality, and on the maintenance of that individuality.
We feel that our ends can best be served by meeting, in this forum, as mutually respectful colleagues in a round-table atmosphere.
It is to this end that the Independent Fight Directors Guild has been established.
