Tonight is my big night. The one I've been waiting for.
Einsturzende Neubauten.
However, you know you've become old when your biggest worry is not "oh no! what am I going to wear?" but "oh shit, I wonder what parking is like. Is my car going to be okay."
Just call me Oldy McOlderson.

Happy Ghost Jesus Day.
Today was my first ever host-the-family-for-the-holiday party day.
Usually this is my mom's job. She has 3 brothers (one is a jehova's witness so he doesn't ever come) but the other two always do, and my uncles on my dad's side and everyone else and their uncles come too.
But my mom and pops are in the Carribean on a cruise celebrating that they still love eachother after 30 years.
So, being the first born child, the responsibilities fell onto me.
I hosted my Uncle, Aunt and their three kids (10, 7 and 3), My other Uncle, J's dad, J's aunt and my brother and his girlfriend.
Here's the list of things that I did wrong on my first ever host-the-family-for-the-holiday party day.
1) I have never boiled eggs before. I do not like boiled eggs so I never have a reason to. My mom always does this.
Therefore, I did not know how long to boil the eggs. The first boil apparently wasn't enough because the yellows were half hard half runny yellow. SO, I reboiled them. Apparently not long enough a second time either cos they didn't really change. Well, they did but just stayed the same darker yellow and got al ittle firmer.
I made the deviled eggs anyway. When I realized:
2) I have never made deviled eggs before. How do you make it? I figured it's like ....tuna salad. I added some miracle whip and some mustard. Mushed it up a few times, then squeezed into the empty husks of egg. Add a liberal sprinkling of paprika to hide the darker yellow spots and voila: deviled eggs.
(people said they were good)
3) Made scalloped potatoes. I followed the instructions on the box to a T. Except for one step. I made 3 boxes in one nice big casserole dish. Added 3 times the amount of water, added the special mix, added the milk...and put it in the oven.
In case you aren't familiar...scalloped potatoes are cheesey potatoes. Do you see "add cheese" in the step above? No? That's cos I forgot to add the cheese. Until after they were done. I pulled out the potatoes and started to squeeze this velvetta looking cheese on top thinking "oh lord almighty, what have I done?". Yeah, so I tried to mix them up and stuff.
They were ugly looking but still good tasting. Mmm. Mmm.
4) Warmed up the Honeybaked Ham (it was already cooked) right before serving. However, in my rush to hurry and feed the masses, I didn't take off the foil wrapper that it came in. I thought it was all foily, like tin foil. Turns out it was foily paper. It smoked a lot.
The ham was good and brownsugary anyway.
5) I forgot to buy silverware. Granted, I have my regular flatware that we use all the time, but there's not 13 knives.
There was enough forks but not enough for when people wanted to eat Pie.
I had to wash forks. Not a big deal but a pain nevertheless.
There were several good things I did do:
1) Had an easter egg hunt for the kids. I went out and hid eggs with real dollars and quarters in them! I even forgot where I hid a couple of the eggs, just like a real mom!
2) Had an exceptionally clean house and an extremely well behaved dog. (though I can't take credit for that too much)
3) Watched Spy-Kids 3-D with my cousins and enjoyed their company without becoming exasperated.
4) Remained calm and level headed without yelling at anyone, once.
Happy Easter. I took pictures with a disposable camera (stupid chewed up digital camera lousy dumb dog with stupid chewing teeth). One day I may scan them and show you. Stupid no camera crap.

I'm just so sick of it all.
And not the band either.
Just sick. (and tired)
I haven't been writing because I'm covered in a thick pea soup fog of sick-of-it-all.
My life is a dark room. One big dark room.
Woe is me.
