A vote for George Bush means:

  1. You support a president and administration that did absolutely nothing to address the terrorist threat before the 9/11 attacks. Despite attempts by Richard Clarke (advisor on terrorism to four presidents, 3 republicans,) who was held over from the Clinton administration to see through the implementation of a plan against terrorism, which even included sending troops into Afghanistan to get Osama Bin Laden, he was systematically ignored and none of the actions called for in the plan were implemented until after the 9/11 attacks.

  1. You support a president who ignored the Hart-Ruddman commission on terrorism’s warnings that the administration would spend most of it’s time countering terrorism, by spending no time whatsoever combating terrorism. None of the commission’s recommendations were heeded.

  1. You support an administration that didn’t just fail to prevent the 9/11 attacks, but did not take any initiative whatsoever towards preventing terrorist attacks against the United States. We’ll never know if the attacks could have been prevented, but their likelihood was almost guaranteed when the guard is asleep.

  1. You support an administration who responded to Richard Clarke’s testimony before the 9/11 commission in which he apologized to the 9/11 victims families for having let them down, by vengefully leveling vicious smear attacks against him and impugning his character.

  1. That you want the rest of the world to know that the current United States aggression is not just the actions of a temporary reckless administration, but that you and the majority of the people of America agree with the notion that the United States be an aggressor nation, free to invade and occupy any country that gets in our way and if the world community doesn't like it, they can go to hell.

  1. That you fully support the consolidation of all major news media under a handful of large corporations who actively promote a news agenda that most benefits their corporate profits and their leader's ideological beliefs, resulting in an overwhelmingly conservative bias in the news sources that most Americans have access to. There is no such thing as a liberal media.

  1. That you support relieving the tax burden of the super wealthy and shifting that burden to all the others, especially those at the lowest end, enabling the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer, and giving trivial tax breaks to the middle class in order to placate those in the middle class.

  1. That you support the vice president awarding his own company with huge government contracts so that he can make millions off the 433,333 stock options he still holds with his company. And that it is OK with you if the administration uses their office for their own financial benefit.

  1. That you support the use of lying smear campaigns against political rivals no matter whether they are members of your own party or not, and that the ends justify the means, no matter how low in the gutter one has to wallow in.

  1. That you support the suppression of black voters who might be unfavorable towards your candidate, by distributing misinformation regarding voting dates and locations, police harassment and intimidation of voters, wrongful removal of legitimate voters from the voter rolls, willful denying the right to vote, allocating fewer voting machines to their precincts causing several hour long waits to vote ...etc. That denying the people's right to vote is ok with you.

  1. That you support cutting all benefits to American military veterans, which includes housing, salary, education, child care, disability, pension, and death benefits. That when a soldier dies in combat that the last paycheck to be sent to his family will be docked appropriately for the time he was not alive. That the United States owes those who serve this country in time of war, as little as possible and that even if severely disabled they should be required to hire attorneys and sue the government to recover their medical expenses.

  1. That you support a tax structure that encourages corporations to ship jobs overseas and put more Americans out of work.

  1. That you support allowing large corporations that make huge profits from American tax payers, to avoid paying US taxes and supporting America, by establishing phony addresses in the Cayman Islands.

  1. That you support the radical, extremist, far right agenda of a president who failed to win a mandate of the voting populace and who refused to concede to any moderate policies.

  1. That you support the opposite of true conservatism by growing the government rather than shrinking it by federalizing airport security, creating homeland security department, increasing spending rather than shrinking it, and increasing the national debt to record levels.

  1. That you support the squandering of a 5 trillion dollar surplus created through the efforts of the previous administration and turning it into a 5 trillion dollar deficit, requiring the borrowing of money from other countries to fund the ever increasing budget, competing for loans with ordinary citizens, and driving interest rates higher, which makes home buying more difficult and depresses the market. And that taxpayer money should not be used for beneficial programs, but instead be used to pay the enormous interest bill that is now among the top five expenses which taxpayers are responsible for paying.

  1. That you support the further growth of the deficit by increasing the tax breaks for the rich and increasing the spending on the war, and that repayment and working down the deficit will be the responsibility of our children. What the heck, it's not your problem.

  1. That you support increasing dependence on foreign oil, so that we can compete at rising prices for ever-diminishing oil resources with China and other growing industrial nations and devoting no government resources to developing alternative energy sources, so that gasoline prices will skyrocket to unaffordable levels in the not too distant future. We don't want to cut in on the short-term profits of the oilmen in the current administration.

  1. You support the denial of federal funding for stem cell research that promises to provide major advances toward cures for illnesses, injuries, and diseases, because of an ideological belief that a microscopic group of a dozen stem cells taken from a human embryo that otherwise would be discarded after couples don't need them anymore, has a sanctity that must be preserved at the expense of those living human beings that stand to benefit from them. That you believe that taking cells from a non-living embryo is different from taking human organs from organ donors.

  1. You support the presidential order that denies Medicare from using it's bargaining power to negotiate lower drug costs from the pharmaceutical companies and also denies the right to purchase drugs from other countries, so that the drug companies can continue to make massive profits off the US consumers whose tax money supported the research to develop those drugs.

  1. You support the lowering of environmental protection standards so that large companies can increase harmful emissions and profits, which causes higher rates of birth defects, infant mortality, pollution related deaths and disease rates.

  1. You support appointing polluting industry spokesman into prominent positions within the EPA, thus insuring that the EPA will be looking out for the best interests of the polluters rather than the American people, which will result in the further fouling of our planet's air and water.

  1. You support a commander in chief who when informed that his nation was under attack sat paralyzed with fear for 7 minutes sitting in front of a classroom of children. Who needs a leader to remain alert and make quick decisions when under attack?

  1. You support the denial of benefits to all who exist on the lower rungs of the economic ladder, including health care, preferring to let all who are less fortunate fend for themselves for food, clothing, shelter and medical treatment.

  1. You support the President's right to spend more time on vacation (40%) than any other president in the history of the US and that it is perfectly ok with you that the president took the entire month of August off prior to the 9/11 attacks.

  1. You support the ignoring of a presidential daily briefing of 8/6/2001 that was titled "Bin-Laden determined to strike in US" which further warned that airplane hijackings were planned, and making no attempt to thwart the attacks.

  1. You support a president who after having supposedly read a briefing a month prior that warned of terrorists hijacking planes, and who was just informed that a plane had just crashed into the World Trade Center, a former target of terrorism, proceeded into a classroom for a photo opportunity.

  1. You support a president who after the nation had been attacked fled to undisclosed locations to hide rather than return to the capital and lead the nation.

  1. You support a president who uses the F word in front of his female staff and a vice president who told a senior senator, on the senate floor, "go fuck yourself."

  1. You support a president who instituted an education plan, which promised, "No child left behind" and then under-funded it so that thousands of children got left behind.

  1. You support the frivolous amending of the constitution of the United States to support an ideological religious belief outlawing gay marriage in a grandstand attempt to garner support from the homophobic and religious right.

  1. You support rescinding the bill of rights and incarcerating innocent people for extended lengths of time without due process of law, denying them contacts, the right to have an attorney, and the right to a hearing.

  1. You support the condoning of the torture and humiliation of innocent (70-90% according to Red Cross) Iraqi civilians whose only crime was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  1.  You support the torture and murder of prisoners of opposition forces in violation of the Geneva Convention, thus insuring that future enemies of the United States will resort to the same tactics against captured Americans.

  1. You support a president who despite worldwide horror expressed regarding the prison torture scandal refused to ask the complicit Secretary of State or any other high officials to resign.

  1. You support offending the Arab world and creating such a hostile atmosphere that it is driving movements of Arab youth to commit terrorism against the United States, raising the ranks of terrorists worldwide by the tens of thousands.

  1. You support a leader whose family has had long business ties with the single most dangerous terrorist in American history and whose administration allowed this terrorist's family to leave the United States, without being fully interrogated, a few days after the most deadly attack on the United States in history, which was perpetrated by that very terrorist.

  1. You support allowing Bin-Laden to escape capture by failing to pursue him relentlessly and by diverting military forces away from the hunt to go fight an illegal war in Iraq.

  1. You support going to war on false pretenses of Weapons of Mass Destruction, and then changing to the equally false assertion that there were terrorist ties between Iraq and Al Qaida.

  1. You support sending 1000 young American soldiers to their death to fight a war based on false pretenses and then not having the decency to attend even one of those funerals.

  1. You support an administration whose deputy Secretary of Defense has no idea how many Americans have died in the Iraq war.

  1. You support an administration that failed to follow any of the detailed planning for post occupation of Iraq. Planning that foresaw almost everything that has now occurred and which, if followed, would have mitigated the abominable situation that developed.

  1. You support a president who invited terrorist attacks against Americans in Iraq by taunting the terrorists with the statement, “Bring it on!”

  1. You support a man who avoided the draft and the Vietnam War by having his father get him into the Air National Guard and who then did not fulfill his guard service obligation, and who was then barred from flying after failing to take a drug test.

  1. You support the only president to ever enter office with a criminal record, due to a drunk driving conviction, and a vice president who has two drunk driving convictions, and that apparently being so drunk that you get arrested and showing such poor judgment as to put other people's lives in danger is nothing to be concerned about.

  1. You support having senior administration officials committing a felony by revealing the identity of a CIA covert agent in order to get even with her Ambassador husband (Joe Wilson) for contradicting the administration's false claims that IRAQ was attempting to buy uranium in Nigeria.

  1. You support a President who ignored intelligence information from three independent government sources that had previously informed him that the story was false, and went before the nation and falsely claimed during his state of the union address that Iraq was buying yellow cake uranium in Nigeria.

  1. You support the elimination of the Democratic Party and the permanent takeover of all the branches of the government by the Republican Party, with no checks and balances, no political discourse, and no opposition whatsoever. The phrase "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." means nothing to you.

  1. You support the loss of overtime pay for 6 million Americans, which may force those people to find other jobs or to find second jobs if their budgets counted upon the overtime pay. Many will also be required to now work the same number of extra hours without compensation at the risk of losing their jobs if they refuse.

  1. You support an administration that while claiming they were going to create 7 million jobs during their administration, has actually lost 1 million jobs since taking office, and will be the first administration since Herbert Hoover's, during the great depression, to have not created a single job during it's tenure.

  1. You support an administration that took office following an unprecedented 8 years of economic expansion during the Clinton administration, and within two months plunged the country into a recession, and which had the nerve to falsely assert that they inherited the recession from Clinton.

  1. You support an administration that punishes media concerns that publish or broadcast negative stores about the administration by denying the media outlet access to the White House news machine. Media outlets are strongly influenced to get in line or be shut off.

  1. You support an administration that is almost completely composed of draft dodgers. The war hawks of the Bush administration that still criticize those who opposed the Vietnam War all took steps during that war to avoid serving their country. This would include Bush, Cheney, John Ashcroft, Dick Armey, Tom Delay (who claimed that minorities had taken all the available military spots,) Trent Lott, Newt Gingrich, Elliott Abrahms, Phil Gramm, Jack Kemp, Bill Bennett, Frank Gaffney and Kenneth Starr.

  1. You support a vice president who avoided the draft during the Vietnam war with five deferments, saying he had other priorities and who obtained his last deferment for being a father exactly 9 months after this deferment rule was enacted.

  1. You support the vice president still trying to assert with no proof whatsoever that there were terrorist ties between Iraq and Al Qaida, even after President Bush had admitted that no ties had been found.

  1. You support a president who vehemently resisted the formation of the 9/11 commission to investigate the events and intelligence failures leading to the 9/11 attacks. Only through the persistence of the 9/11 families did the commission finally come about. The administration then resisted the commission in several ways, the most brazen being Bush's refusal to testify in public and refusing to testify unless accompanied by Cheney, which we can only conclude was to keep their stories in line with each other. Flip-Flopping at the end of the commission’s investigation, Bush had the audacity to thank the commission for its work in a feeble attempt to try and give the impression that he had supported them all along.

  1. You support an administration that uses fear of terrorism to build a belief that they are the only ones that can protect America. To this end, false terror alerts are issued whenever the presidential job approval ratings need to be strengthened. The terror alerts were never backed by any actual evidence, nor were any instructions provided to the public on how to deal with the alerts. Lacking this information, it should be asked what is the point of issuing the alert? The conclusion is obvious; to scare people.

  1. You support a President that refuses to condemn a false attack ad sponsored by a Republican 527 (independent) group, and whose only response to the despicable ad is to condemn all 527 ads, which includes the Democrat groups that have been running negative, but true, attack ads against Bush.

  1. You support a president who "supports" the troops fighting and dying for his illegal war by invoking a "stop-loss" policy requiring them to serve additional tours of duty after they have completed their original tours. He is even requiring some veterans who have completed their military service and who are virtual civilians that have not yet obtained their final discharges, to return to Iraq and be put in harm's way again.

  1. You support further military action in countries such as Iran, Syria, North Korea. In order to do this a military draft will be necessary since the volunteer army does not contain the numbers to support further military action in even Iraq for very much longer. The draft in the Vietnam War era fostered massive protest in that young men were being sent against their will to fight and die in a war they did not believe in. This is the future if the Bush administration is allowed to continue.

  1. You support an administration that bases all decisions and policy based on what is good for them politically and monetarily. Never mind the economy, education, health insurance, the sick, the elderly, the poor, the veterans, the environment, world peace, world opinion, energy independence, crime, public safety, combating terrorism, fair elections, honesty, ethics are all neglected in favor of profits, big money friends, total control of the government, big business, and nation building.

  1. You support a president who has cut funding for police and fireman such that cutbacks have been necessary putting less police on the street and fewer fire emergency services available. We are less safe in all areas.

  1. You support the expiration of the assault weapons ban so that anyone who wants to can obtain an automatic weapon.

  1. You support a man who claimed he was a “uniter, not a divider” How’s that working for you?

  1. You support a man who was installed into office in an unconscionable act committed by the US Supreme Court that acknowledged that all the votes of Florida should be counted, but that an arbitrary and meaningless deadline allowed no time to do so. And who further stipulated that their decision should never be used in any future cases as precedent since they were just making this a one time partisan decision that was not following the rule of law.

  1. You support branding those who dissent as being anti-American and guilty of treason in order to stifle anyone who disagrees with the administration.

  1. You support an administration that has used the 9/11 attacks to further their own political party and their extremist far right agenda.

  1. You support an administration that invented a false story about the previous administration trashing the White House before it was vacated. This was done as another of many attempts to besmirch the Clinton legacy and his administration.

  1. You support stopping funding for the Planned Parenthood organization because of their perceived ties to pro-abortion groups, thus diminishing the organizations efforts to reduce unwanted pregnancies, which have the effect of increasing the very abortions, you are opposed to.

  1. Not sending enough troops to secure the peace in Iraq, which lead, to insurgency, looting, chaos, loss of life, and widespread destruction.

  1. You support the administration feeding propaganda to right wing radio and tv talk shows so that the propaganda can be disseminated and fed back and re-quoted by the administration as being items that the press uncovered.

  1. You support the Republican Party assisting their archrival Ralph Nader by giving funds and campaign assistance knowing that this will split off a significant portion of the democratic vote.

  1. You support a man whose inability to articulate has caused most of the civilized world to believe that our president is an object of derision.

  1. You support a man whose previous business ventures were failures, requiring bailouts by wealthy friends of the Bush family, and who has demonstrated that he is on a path to do the same thing to America.

  1. You support a president who answers all tough questions by pretending not to know anything about the issue.

  1. You support a president who is afraid to appear before groups that may be unfavorable to him or to have anyone in the crowd who isn’t a bush supporter, who requires all present to sign a loyalty oath, and who actually has the local police arrest people for holding anti-bush signs or wearing anti-bush slogans.

  1. You support a president who refused to appear before the N.A.A.C.P. convention, breaking a long-standing tradition of all presidential candidates.

  1. You support a president who refuses to read the newspapers and is willfully ignorant of the affairs of world, the nation, and his own community.

  1. You support a President who once said, “If this were a dictatorship, it’d be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I’m the dictator.”

  1. You support an administration that seems intent on destroying the ecological balance of our world for the short-term gains of industry. Their opinion seems to be that the future health and well being of all living things is not important and that they will be long gone and free from blame when the Earth becomes unlivable due to their shortsightedness.

  1. You support a president who claims to support federal government not interfering with states’ rights, while supporting a constitutional amendment to override state laws regarding same-sex marriage.

  1. You support an administration and president who hypocritically mock and criticize an opposition candidate’s statements, views, voting record, and actions, when the president and members of his administration have said and done the exact same things.

  1. You support a man whose political agenda is most certainly the opposite of what is in your best interests and you are choosing to ignore the issues that should be of concern in your life and are focusing instead on issues that don’t have substance and are not important criteria for the election of The President of the United States.

  1. You support a political party whose delegates at their national convention wore Band-Aids imprinted with a purple heart to mock the war record and medals of John Kerry, in a vile and tasteless display of insensitivity towards all U.S. veterans, especially those who were wounded, knowing that this would outrage many Americans. This despicable act, which was not limited to just few individuals, shows that there is no limit to how low the members of the Republican Party can stoop in their quest for power.

  1. You support a political party who ran a smear campaign in 2002 against democratic Senator, war hero, and triple amputee Max Cleland by claiming that the war wound in which he lost three limbs was intentionally self-inflicted, and who ran television commercials in which Cleland's face was morphed into Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin-Laden. This party is establishing a relentless trend to use vile smear tactics impugning war veterans whenever possible. This is especially odious when the current administration has so many members who went out of their way to avoid military service.

  1. You support a party who claims not to be associated with the smear tactics against John Kerry by a so-called "independent" group, while trotting out Bob Dole to reinforce the already discredited lies. It was also revealed that Bob Dole had been caught on a television show agreeing that Bush was wrong to use similar smear tactics against John McCain when they ran against each other for the nomination in 2000.

  1. You support a party who holds their political convention in overwhelmingly Democratic New York City at a date very close to the three year anniversary of the 9/11/2001 attacks in order to once again use the 9/11 attacks for their own political advantage. This at a cost of 309 Million dollars to New York.

  1. You support a Party whose keynote speaker at their convention spoke an outright lie, saying that John Kerry had said that he would only go to war if the UN approved. The keynote speaker then made a snide remark that Paris would have to tell John Kerry to go to war. John Kerry said no such thing, saying the exact opposite in that he would let no nation or organization veto our going to war.

  1. You support an administration that is falsifying and misrepresenting the facts regarding John Kerry’s voting record regarding military spending in that John Kerry, as all Senators, Republican and Democratic, have voted for and against many appropriations bills depending on many factors, which has nothing to do with whether a President will support a strong national Defense. In most cases John Kerry voted the same as the Republicans voted, which makes it all the more despicable for these same Republicans to be criticizing his position, when in fact they did the same thing that Kerry did.

  1. You support a vice president who while secretary of defense under George Bush senior was a strong advocate and recommended the cutting of several defense projects such as the F-16 fighter program, the B-2 Stealth Bomber program, the Apache helicopter program, The M1 tank program, B-52 production, closing of 70 military bases, and several other weapons systems and military expenditures and who now has the gall to hold John Kerry responsible for voting with Cheney on many of these very cuts.

  1. You support a political party who is so devoid of any success during their administration that they must resort to attacks against their opposition in their commercials and their convention speeches.

  1. You support a party who has provided no national health insurance program and which has left 45 million Americans, many of them children, with no affordable health care.

  1. You support an administration that falsely claims the economy is improving even as authoritative agencies report that key indicators show the economy worsening.

  1. You support an administration that continues to exploit the 9/11 attacks as justification for their remaining in office, making the unproven assertion that they have some special province for governing America in its time of trouble.

  1. You support a President who admits that the handling of post-war Iraq was not very good and who blames the lack of planning on a miscalculation on his part of how long the war would take; that the Army achieved victory so quickly his administration was caught unprepared. This conflicts with the fact that the administration was claiming right from the beginning that the war would be over quickly. It also contradicts the fact that there was a great deal of planning for post-war Iraq done by the military, which was simply ignored.

  1. You support a vice president whose voting record in the congress closely paralleled that of segregationist Jesse Helms, and who voted against a measure to condemn South African apartheid.

  1. You support a President who commits an extreme flip-flop by saying in a recent interview that he did not think that he could ever completely win the war against terrorism, and then the next day, after consulting with his advisors, announced that he would win the war on terrorism.

  1. You support an administration whose press secretary announced that Americans should “watch what they say, watch what they do.” Thus subverting the first amendment right to free speech afforded by the US Constitution.

  1. You support an administration who, in the post 9/11 hysteria, forced a law through congress in the middle of the night, called the Patriot Act which rescinds the bill of rights and which also decrees that the government is allowed to spy on it’s own citizens.

100. You support an administration whose corruption appears to have no limits, and no shame for their destructive actions against democracy and America. That is evil in intention, and hostile toward all Americans. That cannot claim a single positive accomplishment during their administration. Historians are already terming this a “failed Presidency” on a par with those of Herbert Hoover's and Richard Nixon's. Others are making convincing argument that this presidency is the worst ever in the history of the United States.
