New Hostage
I just tuned in the Spanish television station in my sleep deprived stupor and left it there a minute. There was a report about some hostage. Now I can speak a little Spanish. If it's spoken slowly and has something to do with beer, or food I'm okay. Rapid fire telecast I am not. So I want you to know I have no idea what happened outside of another hostage was taken.
I could go all witty and bore you away quickly by conjecturing Bush has taken another hostage. Or maybe Halliburton. But the joke would grow old very quickly. So what I will instead do is see how astute I am at the reaction this will have on the Media, Right Wingers, The Left, The Blogoverse. Generally alot of us. So here goes.
Someone was taken hostage. I'm betting by a terrorist organization that will cut off his head, or shoot him, maybe both. But I don't know this. What I do know is there will be those who use this to again go on about how we cannot trust "these people". While I agree we cannot trust terrorist and murderers, and yes that is what they are, murderers, I believe the generalization harms us terribly. Alienating those who may be moderate and more susceptable. But the right wil crow again. And should the video come out of the execution many will host it, mirror it, and report on it.
The right will also use this to press their argument the war in Iraq was just and lying to get us there is okay because we're serving a nobler purpose. What a crock of happy horseshit. But moving along.
The left without missing a beat or pausing for air will shout they are wrong and this only proves we should not be there and hanging the President and his administration is good for us all. While there may be an element there I might agree to, they are flaming moonbats. Never seeing they are always forced to take the opposite side of left and right battles and the right puts them there often to the lefts detriment. But the left shall shout as well. The point finally beat home.
But not to be outdone there will be those who doubt the authenticity of any video released. CIA? KGB? Israel? France? Was that guy wearing a Trojan Condom? They don't sell those in the middle east. The film must be fake. While the right gone over the edge crowd will say this is the last straw and we should just nuke em all back to hell where they belong. Heil Bush!
The Media will milk it for what it's worth, and I'd be suprised if they either already aired the hostages family reaction, or plan to in the near future. Just like the rabid dogs of punditry online, they will voice the scripts written them with saddened faces or bright cheery smiles as the case may need. And that will only serve to infuriate some whacko who was watching the wrong station at the wrong time, and he'll write some crap about it, and post it on a blog.
Well I decided to try and beat everyone to the punch. Instead of waiting for the facts, I just started reporting. Now I'll report there will be a few right wing web sites doing some bannings soon for not respectful enough comments or some such garbage. It's the nature of the fascist.
But all this aside. Discounting everything I just said. I'm gonna try some psyhcic shit. I see Lebanon. I see a hostage release. I also see Osama Bin Laden in Saudi Arabia. Some nice place. No desert hovel. I see Bush getting acid indigestion. Seems theres new memos relating to 9-11 warnings that refute his previous words. I see myself eating dinner. Whoops. Gotta go. Dinners ready.
