Word has it that pharmaceutical companies are halting drug shipments to Canada. Not really halting. More like halving. Or taking a fraction away.

Is it because those dreaded Canadians are drug addicts? That they need watching over, and those companies are just cutting back the dosage?

Well no. It's because Americans are still shopping for a bargain by buying their prescribed drugs from Canadian suppliers at a cheaper price. Often the same drugs made here in America, are being shipped to Canada, then resold to cost minded Americans. Hmmmm?

So what we see here is a case of the item is made locally but sells cheaper by buying from far away. I for one am not suprised. I live in Florida. We have oranges. Lots and lots of oranges. Yet we pay more for orange juice thats squeezed locally than many people thousands of miles away. No matter how you look at it, it doesn't make sense. There is less shipping. Less paper work. But more cost?

Well doing somehing about it is what people should be doing. But what to do. We could all send letters addressing our concerns. Of course that hasn't worked so far. Seems they don't read mail that doesn't include a check to a political party. We could try boycotting. Do we all "really" need all the drugs we are using? What if instead of buying them from Canada you try not taking some of them on occasion. Some folks couldn't do this of course. Their health is in question. Many others tho are eating a horde of medications a day, and a decent doctor would advise you to stop taking them.

I know I only came up with two options. The reason being is, that I am betting laws would be passed forcing people to take medications prescribed by doctors. After all if a doctor says you need the medication and you refuse to take it, then you must surely be mentally unstable. The governing bodies of our country cannot allow mentally unfit people to do without. Herein lies another trap down a long road of legislation that intrudes into your life. If you the people take your buying power, and use it to force political change, there is a good chance they will legislate change removing that right.

Its a need to them. They have to retain control or the plans they have laid will fail. Failure is not an option. Failure means chaos. People will start doing things as they see fit. There will be drug adicts and many will die. There will be teenage pregnancy, and abortion. People will drink. They will get drunk and pass out in the street and drive. People will die. People will worship as they see fit. Some of them may get it wrong. When they die they will go straight to wherever it is people go to who were wrong. Sex will be open and people will do as they see fit, morally and sexually. We cannot have that. Freedom has it's limits. So limiting peoples freedoms preemptively to ensure security for all is a good thing.

How far our country has come. How far from it's original ideals it has fallen. Religious freedom means more than just the freedom to worship as you see fit. It also entails being able to live as you see fit. Without the intrusion of the governing bodies passing laws based on morality.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin
