Waiting For It

Here I sit waiting for words.
Fleeting they fly like small singing birds.
Touching my mind then flitting away.
Before I can catch them and have something to say.

The computer has been down, and I'm now semi funtional again. I am sure my return visitors are tired of hearing how lousy my computer is so I'll move along.

To all those coming to see "Lest We Forget", I hope you get the message thats being sent. How simple really, and how effective. Thanks to client trackers I see readers sending the file around office buildings. I see important organizations logging on just to see the links. Other countrys. Did I mention Saudi Arabia. One of their biggest oil companies? Or British Petroleum?

I also wonder what this bodes for my future. Have I been blacklisted because of my anti Bush sentiments? Will my future hold problems because I openly criticised our country? Are the sites tracking me watching me for a reason? And what about all these hits from China? Saudi Arabia? Will they be claiming a Jihad against me sometime soon? Like the Rushdie guy? That'd probably make get me my fifteen minutes of fame for sure. Did I mention hits from the Department of Justice? The Department of Defense? The House of Representitives?

But it's time we talk about some things. Things like how we are fighting a war on terror, but what we are doing in Iraq isn't "called" a war. How can we be at war with a country we have defeated? We deposed their ruler. We sent troops to enforce rules the populice may not wish to follow. America started a war with another country. We started it. America. Have we forgotten America is supposed to be the good guy that defends the weak? Not the bully that occupies another country and shoots women and children?

No one in their right mind defends people killing innocents. But no one in their right mind should be able to defend torture. To defend killing more Iraqis. To defend the build up to war with Iraq. But there are those in this country that are so blinded by political fervor that they gleefully lie, bend the truth, change the issue, or shout down others. Closed minded they wish to step forward into the future, and to hell with any of us who question why we are walking of the cliff. They always neglect to mention we are fighting a war on terrorism, not a war on Iraq. Somewhere between now and then the one became the other. They became interchangable. As long as we're killing Muslims we must be fighting terrorist. So believes the propagandized brains of TV viewers. So believe the good old boys down at the bar. They believe it because they cannot fathom how the lie could be allowed to go on so long without the news, or the president putting a stop to it.

I hear almost everyday how the media has gone soft. How they are leftist. The media are radicals. The latest example is the video of Nick Berg. Well I wish to answer this charge before I move on. They cannot show the video. Cannot. They could not show it during prime time line up, or when any children would possibly be awake watching. They would have to do it late at night. Then if they did it there is a good chance some family member would sue. I don't know the family. I am just stating it as a possibility that any news media's legal department has already advised the owners of the stations. So while the right screams that they don't show it because they are biased, I say they don't show it because of legal implications. If they could air it without fear of legal implications they would. For ratings. For an exclusive. For money. You know money. That thing our government seems to squander so freely on other countries while seeking to cut off any assitance at home.

Lets go on to how the liberal media is fathomed. Media anchor people were asked questions. Based on their answers we are told the "media" is liberal. The anchor peoples answers. Not the answers of the owners of the companys. Nor the script writers. The people in the back filming. The entire liberal media argument rest on the fact some of the more visible anchor people think gay people should be left to their privacy. That it's no ones buisness if a girl decides to get an abortion but hers and God's. The arguement ends though when one remembers how we got ourselves into this war. The war with Iraq. The non existent war no one in government will name. The one no one in media is calling a war. The media that dares not question Bush. Tough questions get you fired remember? Fair and balanced? Not on Bush's watch.

Then I wonder how anyone can believe for an instant the propaganda machine that is television didn't support war on Iraq. The build up. The non stop "evidence". None of it fact checked by the media. They reported what they were told to report. No one within these organizations spoke out, or if they did they were fired. reassigned, or placed on hiatus. Doesn't seem like a liberal media to me if they punish factual reporting, and fact checking. Yet the right screams loudly how that damnded liberal media is loosing the war. Seems to be theres a quiet behind the scenes move to put some "Limits on Freedom". After all, the truth isn't really something the american people need. They need to increase productivity, and vote for that nice Republican guy that saved them from terrorist. The ones we're at war with.

What war? Oh! The one in Iraq. The war that isn't a war. After all it was a simple Mission to remove Saddam and his sons from power in Iraq. Mission Accomplished. Yet America persist in staying. We persist in fighting. We persist in killing Iraqis. But it isn't a war. No now it's a police action. Our soldiers. Trained to defend our country against attack. Our soldiers are off guarding another country for what amounts to nothing more than greed and oil revenues. Sure, even I can argue about strategic military placement, but.... does this give America the right to attack another country so we can be better positioned in the global theater of operations in the mid east? But our leaders answer to a higher calling. Profit. Denial.

Like puppets leaders of the world dance. Those dependent on Democratic vote suffering the most for they must dance for the public as well as the masters. Yet who are the masters. Who exactly kisses whos ass in the pecking order of the super mighty? Korea and China? Well I'd vote China being bigger than Korea. Bush and the owners of Saudi Aramco? I'd bet whoever owns Saudi Aramco has Bush kissing their ass on a daily basis. Our puppet president. Poor little pinnochio is getting his ass handed to him on a platter. Daily he is embarrassed by his policies in action. Daily the apologist apologize, and compare him to Saddam. How bad does it have to be when you compare you president to a mass murderer to illustrate how "good" he is. "Gee Sally your boyfriend is a real jerk." "But he's not Richard Speck."

They dance. The Republicans and the Democrats. Dancing as fast as they can to hide the little fires that have started. The problems they have been ignoring and hiding for fear of voter backlash all these years is biting them in the ass. They dance the dance so no one will know. They seek a way to shift the blame, to shift the focus, before we wake up and realize how badly they have done. All of them.

Then I turn on the TV. Mindless chatter from channel after channel. Each station I stop at repeats in different words the same thought. America must stay the course. Why?

Theres the question for you rightist. Why? Why should America stay. Give a reason that's not in America's interest but in the Iraqis. Why would the Iraqis want us there? And please don't mention the few Iraqis who said they did want us there. The latest poll shows a clear majority of Iraqis that want us out. So if they want us out. If Americans are dying there. If we have no wish to try and steal the oil. Or move our troops from bases less centralized. Why would America stay?

To prop up another puppet dictator. Like Saddam. Who we helped prop up. Sorry folks. When you live in a country who's leaders deal in so much covert crap you tend to believe your living in a Robert Ludlem novel, and the death squads and faked executions are not just a passing thought, but a serious possibility.

Oh. Did I mention someone from the Hague hit my web site? I know it's a town. Yes it was a normal ISP. No it wasn't from a war crimes tribunal. But it said, "The Hague". Tell me that doesn't get a tin foil hat wearing psycho like me all worked up. But you gotta know. When you get regular hits from China, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, and a few other fishy ones, you know your on some poor overworked CIA agents docket. Hell I try and make it easy on the poor agent. I tell em when my computers down. Give em an idea when I'm going to the beach. Supplied a fairly recent picture of myself so they don't have to get one. And I publish my irreverent articles bashing Bush and the motley group we call Politicians in this country. This way they don't have to dig through my trash. I'd supply em with bank statements, but piggy hit the trash last month and I doubt but a few shards of him remain.

Just think though. I could get a job doing PR and propaganda films for somebody else. May I suggest 65k a year, two laptops tweaked, a boat, and satellite uplink. I do realize my price is going up. But hey it's America right. Hell I might even grow into a good capatalist Republican yet. I heard that happens when you start making enough cash. So far no one in my family has ever voted Republican. Maybe they outta stop teaching the poor how to read, write, and do html. Looks like it's starting to get under their skin.
