		Owego died Oct. 6, 1847 ae 38 years.  
		     
						Monument
			This monument was erected by the First Baptist Church & Society in
			Owego, in token of regard for their lamented Pastor. He was graduated	
			From the Collegiate Department of Hamilton Institute now Madison
			University Aug. 1836, and from the Theological Department Aug. 1838.
			He was baptized into the fellowship of the First Baptist Church in	
			Cazenovia on May 20, 1831 was licensed to preach the Gospel Dec. 21,
			1833 and ordained by the same Church March 1838.

						 Monument
			He was graduated Hamilton College, July 18, 1841 & from the
			Theological Department of Madison University, Aug. 16, 1846. This 
			Monument was erected by friends residing in Hamilton, in token of
			their affectionate regard for their intended Pastor. He was baptized
			into the fellowship of the First Baptist Church in Cazenovia, April 13,
			1834 and was licensed to preach the Gospel by the same Church 
			April 3, 1844.
			
	Rev. John, b. Sept. 11, 1780, d. Dec. 15, 1849 in his 70th year.   Monument
	Mrs. Sarah, wife of Rev. John Peck, b. May 7, 1784, d. Sept. 21, 1847 in her 64 year.
	
			He was settled Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Cazenovia, New
			Woodstock in 1804 and continued its devoted and successful Pastor 
			for 31 years: then was the General Agent of the "Baptist Missionary
			Convention of the State of New York" until 1839, when he became an
			Agent of the American Baptist Home Mission Society: in whose service he 
			was in the City of New York at the time of his death.
