Earlville Cemetery

Town of Hamilton

Part I    Part II

About 1800, Thomas Kershaw, owner of the meadow directly north of the present John Wore
residence, permitted his neighbors to bury their dead therein. That was the beginning
of the present Earlville Cemetery. The oldest memorial stone there is one set for
Roxada Collins, Mar. 1801. (Extracted from an article by John R. Parsons in Earlville
Standard in 1942. Copied from Mrs. Gertrude Smith records with her permission.
