Conrad G. Moot arrived in the town of Lenox (now part of the town of Lincoln) around 1796 and settled on and later patented Lot No. 15 of the 1802 Land Purchase. He was a shareholder in the Lenox Iron Company, and later the Lenox Furnace Company. With his father, Johannis (John) Moot, he served with the 7th Reg. Albany County Militia in the Revolutionary War.
Conrad married Catharina Taylor about 1783. 9,10 Catharina was born about 1760 and died at age 40 in 1800. They had four children. He then married Elizabeth Gardner in Town of Middleburgh, Schoharie County, NY. Elizabeth was born about 1767, 13 died on 20 Dec 1831, about age 64, 2 and was buried in Canastota, Madison Co, NY. They had four children.
Nancy (Annie) Moot (1784-1869), daughter of Conrad G. Moot and Catherina Taylor, and granddaughter of John Moot, married James Ingalls, Sr. in 1805.
