THE OLIO PLAYERS 2008
Join the cast of "Without A Clue, or, Who Did In Willamina Willagillespie from Walla Walla Washington?" There will be no mystery as to why the audience is laughing in the aisles at this musical murder mystery, a radio drama set around 1940. Come to our first rehearsal, on Tuesday, May 27, 7:30 pm at the Glee Tower (directions) to join in on the fun. We'll perform on July 25, 26, and 27 at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center (directions). Tickets will be available in June, from cast members and Brown Paper Tickets.
Who we are The Olio Players offers adult amateurs the opportunity to be involved in musical productions and experience "the smell of the greasepaint and the roar of the crowd." The annual Olio Show (a vaudeville-style variety show) features musical theater/opera scenes, comedic numbers, dramatic acts and skits, solos and ensembles, all tied together with an ongoing plot line. Requirements to join Willingness to have fun! No matter what your experience level, the Olio Players will find something for you to do in a production. The ability to carry a tune is helpful, as is the ability to "ham it up" but the point is to get involved to the best of your ability, take some chances and stretch your wings. You must make a commitment to regular and punctual attendance at rehearsals and performances. We also have opportunities for back-stage volunteers to help with costuming, makeup, lighting, etc. Where we rehearse Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 to 9:30 pm beginning May 27, 2008 in the Glee Tower at The Luna Park ActivSpace, 3400 Harbor Ave SW. How much does it cost? Members pay
a monthly fee of $50 to cover our expenses: our professional staff,
music, hall rentals, instruments, equipment, and day-to-day operating
