My first project in robotics.

Basically, I gutted a cheap remote controlled truck I purchased at Wallgreens for about $10. I put the receiver board and a 4xAA battery holder on the Tamaya treaded vehicle kit. I encountered issues with tread alignment when mounting two single gearboxes sidy-by-side.

Problem solved! With the addition of a dual gearbox assembly, the tread alignment problem was resolved. I did, however, have to add a piece of thin plastic sheet between the motors as the motor bodies are tied to the negative contact on the motors. With independant motor supplies from the reciever board, the bodies could short out the supply if they are touching.

A closer view of the entire project. Next step is to remove the remote control receiver board and replace it with a PICmicro based control board (home built).
