Uniforms

Uniforms are an essential part of the scouting program.  As with any uniform, its proper use represents pride in one's self and pride in the Pack.

Uniforms come in two Categories:

Class A: Full Uniform
Class B: Cub Scout or BSA Related T-Shirt

Class A Uniforms:

For more formal events such as Den Meetings and Pack Meetings, and when Scouts and Scouters are in public representing Pack 443, Class A Uniforms should be worn by Youth and Adult Leaders.  In all cases, a scout should always present a neat appearance, with his shirt tucked in and his cap on straight.  In addition, Class A uniforms should be worn when traveling to and from pack campouts.  Upon arrival at the campout, Class B Uniforms may be worn.

Class A uniforms consists of:

A button down short or long sleeve BSA uniform Shirt.  Tiger Cubs and Wolf Scouts shirts are blue.   Bear Scouts have an option of blue or tan.  WEBELOS wear tan.   Shirts should be worn properly tucked in (except for female leaders).
Cub Scout or rank related neckerchief with Cub Scout related slide.  Slides made as part of a Scouting related craft project are acceptable.
Cub Scout Related cap is optional.  A cap is recommended for use in outdoor events and during campouts and should be worn straight.
A blue Cub Scout belt (WEBELOS may wear a green  Boy Scout or WEBELOS belt)
Cub Scout pants.  While the Cub Scout pants are officially part of the Class A uniform, Pack 443 does not require cub scout pants.  As an acceptable replacement, jeans or a nice pair of shorts may be worn. No camouflage may be worn.  We also suggest that Nylon type pants not be worn around campfires, they can catch fire easily!
Scout Socks are optional

Class B Uniforms:

For more casual events, service projects, or any other scouting function where the scout or scouter is likely to become dirty or it is not practical to wear a Class A Uniform, Class B uniforms may be worn.

Class B Uniforms consist of:

A Scout Related casual shirt such as a T-Shirt.
Scout Pants or shorts (optional), personal pants or shorts.

Class A Uniform Guidelines for New Members:

As new members, here is a list of the items that must be purchased.

Cub Scout Shirt
Blue Applets for the shoulders  of the Tan WEBELOS Shirts
Three Fires Council Shoulder Patch
Numbers 4, 4, 3
World Crest
Belt

Class A uniforms can be either short or long sleeve. Short sleeve shirts are generally more versatile because another shirt can always be worn under the shirt during colder months. A Three Fires council patch should be purchased and sewn on the left top sleeve by shoulder. Under that, you will need the number patches to make "443". Then the last patch to purchase is the "World Crest" it is circle of purple with white crest. This goes above the left pocket.

*Tigers & Wolf - Wear the blue shirts
*Bears- bears have the option of wearing the blue shirt or the tan shirt. We strongly suggest if you are new or if your son has outgrown the blue shirt, buy a tan shirt, because the WEBELOS wear the tan shirts.
*WEBELOS 1 & 2 - wear the tan  shirts. These are Boy Scout shirts, that they can wear when they cross over into Boy Scouts easily by just removing a few patches.

Neckerchiefs will be provided along with their handbooks.

Red brag vests are optional. They are a place to put all their patches. There is no set way to put patches on it, except you should buy it big to last along time and to place the 3 fires circle in the center back when they earn that (after bobcat we give that to the scouts), then the segments circle around that
Cub Scout pants.  While the Cub Scout pants are officially part of the Class A uniform, Pack 443 does not require cub scout pants.  As an acceptable replacement, jeans or a nice pair of shorts may be worn.
