 Steenbergh Genealogy

Genealogy is another one of my hobbies!  I've been studying our family history for about 30 years.

This information includes the surnames of Justice, Scott, Steenbergh, Savage, Cooper, Sears.   If you have information to share about this family, please email me at ny147th@yahoo.com

My ancestor, John Scott is buried in Rock Elm Cemetery in Michigan

Click here for cemetery records of Rock Elm Cemetery, East Jordan, Michigan.

Click here for 2 wills and testaments that I found from Albany, New York.  I don't believe they are my direct ancestors....but maybe some distant cousins out there are looking for them.

Our ancestors fought in the Civil War:

David Justice - 73rd Ohio Infantry

John Scott - 107th Pennsylvania Infantry

John Steenbergh - 147th New York Infantry

A special remembrance goes to Ivan Steenbergh who passed away during battle at Pork Chop Hill in the Korean Conflict.

Many other family members have served in the military. We thank them and are proud of our soldiers that have fought for our freedom.

A narrative of family history can be found here:  http://www.ole.net/~maggie/antrim/justic.htm or just click

Reunion 2006 We have been meeting every year since the 1960's.

I've changed a little bit since that time.

REUNION 2007

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day - sunny and 80 degrees on July 7th.
Aunt Lou Barnes took the spotlight as we all sang Happy Birthday to her.....about 6 months early.  Her birthday cake said "Happy 95 1/2 Birthday."  She was in true form, laughing and giggling all the way with a zest for life and the future. I've been told that Aunt Lou rode a sea doo last year for the first time after the last reunion.
Another highlight was when Leon Steenbergh at age 80 was in the dunk tank and everyone took a chance to knock him down into the water.
One thing I've realized is that the Steenbergh's are a fun loving bunch and the reunions are always fun.
Thanks to Reva and all those that helped make the Reunion a special day!
