General Description

Node-1 was the initial component of the US segment on which all other US segment peices would be attached.

US nodes were first conceived in the Freedom design whereas earlier designs included multiple dockign ports to the main modules themselves. Node's came to include racks of equipment themselves, and speciallized infrastructure of the station itself making them small modules themselves and not just simple connectors for the other modules.

The Node has 6 docking ports, and space for 4 racks of equipment inside.
