A record catch must be verified so how do you do that?
Most importantly get your fish weighed at a certified scale and don't forget to get the scale operators signature and one witness,THEY MUST BE PRESANT AT THE WEIGHING.
Then you will need to go the WDFW Department of Fish and Wildlife office for verification.

Its Nautical is a recreational boating information site for the Puget Sound and coastal waters of Washington State. This website is for people who love fishing, shellfish, and boating in Western Washington. Find Pacific Northwest getaways in the Vacation Planning page and access useful information about local clubs, related websites, sports fish records, boat accessible restaurants and bars.

We began as a local boat listing for the Puget Sound region called Barbee's Boat Listings in February 1998. We have since grown into this informational website for recreational boating in the Puget Sound and Washington State. Its Nautical has expanded to include information about local canoe, kayak, and yacht clubs. Boating information such as boat accessible bars, restaurants, fueling docks and mooring facilities are also available. Local fishing, shellfish information, Washington State sport’s fish records, fishing guide services, local fishing charters, as well as vacation planning information, Local accommodations, boat charters, rafting services, rental services, and whale watching can all be found here.

We have boating information for the Puget Sound and surrounding areas.

Did you know:

In 2005, a law was passed requiring boat operators to take a boater safety education course in order to operate a boat in Washington state. The law applies to operators of motorboats with 15 horsepower or greater.

This requierment takes affect based on your Age durring the individual year listed below.

in 2009 if you are 25 and younger you are requierd to carry this card. This is the schedual for the incrimental increase until 2014 when everyone born after Jan 1 1955 will then be required to carry it when operating a boat in Washington state.

In 2010 age 30.
In 2011 age 35.
In 2012 age 40.
In 2013 age 50.
In 2014 age 59.
