November 20th 2004 Race
On November 20th, we competed in the USATF Region 16 Junior Oympic Cross Country Meet. The top three teams and top twenty individuals qualify for the USATF Junoir Olympic National Meet.

Our midget boys, Tom Olache, Michael Schmidt, and Shaun Berendt ran exceptional races: all three ran personal best 3k times. Tom led our group with a 11:58 effort for 30th place, followed by Mike in 36th in 12:33 and Shaun in 43rd in 12:53. Murphy Kurth represented us well in the 4k youth girls race with a 18:46 clocking for 59th place. Paul Jurgens went out fast in the intermediate boys 5k race, running a 20:56 for 39th place.

Our youth boys team finished their season with a strong showing garnering fourth place in a tough field of eight teams. They were led by Josh Stein's (13:49) and Stephan Jurgens' (14:33) 4th and 19th place finishes on the Busse Woods 4k course. They were aggressively supported by Emmett Lorenz in 27th (14:53), Robbie Blotter in 32nd (15:09), Michael Lorenz in 39th (15:22), Ryan Shea in 48th (15:46), Michael Baglieri in 61st (16:13), Michael Schmelzel in 62nd (16:19), Peter DeJongh in 66th (17:02) and Dan Olache in 70th (17:23). Eight personal bests were accomplished in this race.
