Winter 2004 Track and Field Meets

We competed in a Track meet on January 10th at the Westwood Sports Complex in Sterling, Illinois. We had two entrants in the 1600m run, Michael Schmidt, who placed first in the Midget Boys division in 6:34, and Stephan Jurgens, placing first in the Youth Boys division in 5:48.

We competed in a Track meet on January 17th at York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois. Murphy Kurth ran the 400m run in 1:14. Paul and Stephan Jurgens ran the 1000m run in 3:44 and 3:28, respectively. Erin Schafer completed the 1500m run in 6:05. The 4x400m relay team of Stephan, Paul, Erin and Murphy ran a 5:12.

We competed in a Track meet on February 7th at the Westwood Sports Complex in Sterling, Illinois. Murphy Kurth placed 6th in the 800m Youth Girls run with a 3:02 clocking. Erin Schafer and Stephan Jurgens ran the 1600m run. Erin placed 3rd in the Youth Girls division with a 6:42 time, while Stephan secured 2nd in the Youth Boys race posting a 5:50.

We competed in the USATF North Youth Indoor Track Championships on Sunday March 7th in Hillside, Illinois at Proviso West High School. In the 1500m girls race Erin Schafer (Youth) placed 1st with a time of 6:03. In the 1500m boys race Stephan Jurgens (Youth) captured 3rd with a strong 5:24. Mike Schmidt (Midget) placed 2nd in 5:56.
