The Characters

  • Hida Tanaka, a Hida school bushi. Honorary chui in the Crab Army. Hida-san doesn't know it but he carries the karmic burden of his counterpart from another version of Rokugan; his soul is that of Hida Tagasuru, who fell under the sway of a magical sword, a Kenchi, a bloodsword. Could there be a connection? Could it be fate? Perhaps even destiny? The Great Wheel turns on and only time will tell. . .

  • Hiruma Honchu, a Hiruma school scout. Honorary gunso in the Crab Army. Nicknamed 'Usagi,' or 'Rabbit,' by Hida-san. His destiny seems linked to the big Hida's somehow; before their gempukku the sure-footed Honchu had no connections to or knowledge of Hida-san, since the finding of the sword, the two seem to be inseparable. Additionally, events of consequence now seem to revolve around the pair. . .

THE Adventures

  • Through A Glass, Darkly
The Gempukku rite of the Crab Clan tends to be a bit more pragmatic than those of many other Clans; enter the Shadowlands, stay there for a week collecting the heads of any goblins, ogres or even onis that you find and, if you survive, return home as a true Crab warrior. Straight forward enough, hai?

  • Bride And Seek
The lot of the Hiruma clan is a sad one, their ancestral lands lost to the forces of the Shadowlands. They have no family mon and no dojos, or schools, to teach their family techniques. Fortunately for the Hiruma the Shinjo clan of the Unicorn has provided dojos where the Hiruma traditions can be taught.  This has created a tenuous alliance between the two families.  Hida Kasada, determined to keep as many Crab family clans viable as he can, has decided that this fragile pact must be strengthened -- by marriage!

  • The Watchers in the Wood
The Shinomen Mori is renowned throughout the lands of the Emerald Empire as a place of mystery and danger. But as our heroes journey home following their long trek to the Unicorn lands, something long forgotten stirs within the Shinomen's shadowy depths.  Not only does this rising power seek to swallow up our small band of Crabs in the mystery of the Hidden Forest but to alter the future of the Emerald Empire itself!

    Recap to follow, soon. Promise.

  • Promises To Keep. . .
The lands of the Crab Clan border on the foul, despoiled territory of the Shadowlands and even the stalwart defenders of the Empire are not immune to the corrupting effects of that loathsome place. Ever vigilent, the Kuni Witch Hunters seek for those gruesome monstrosities that have penetrated the defenses of the Carpenter's Wall and for those whose hearts have surrendered to the call of darkness.
