| This is a shot of the screen which is a 85 x 64 Da-Lite theater screen. Originally the screen was 6 x 8 sheet of sheetrock meticulously seemed ( paid someone to do it) and painted with Behr Silver Screen paint with a touch of flex.. It looked GREAT, but I came across the real screen so used that over the sheetrock. |
Another screen shot head on. The walls above the wood trim are a sand texture blue to help with the acoustical deflection. Below the trim are homemade individual acoustical tiles. There is a design on the fabric which is not noticeable from the pics. The wall the screen is on is actually a false wall 2' deep. Each panel is removable and made from frames with speaker cloth stretched over them. making access is a breeze. |
The equipment is all racked and behind the only hinged room as shown. Yes, I have the door prop'ed open by a fan for this shot. Behind the screen "wall" are the left, right, center and subwoofer speakers. Surrounds and rear surrounds are suspended from the theater walls angled down at the proper levels. All equipment is tied into TAH's IR network. |

| The Maltese Falcon. Yes, it is a replica from the original mold from the movie. If you look in the upper left hand corner of the above middle picture, you'll see a light on. This is a little cubby hole I built into the screen "wall" where the falcon rests. Nice touch for a theater... besides, I always wanted one of these since I saw the movie as a kid. | People who are considering a home theater are always asking me about the ceiling. Drop ceiling or paint. I decided to go with a flat black ceiling paint since I was not really concerned about the acoustical factors as the TAH Theater is an addition to the back of the house with no room above it. The addition has the original roof line intact with it's own roof over that. The short story is that the ceiling is acoustical "dead"... as it should be. The projector is a InFocus Screenplay.. Great mid tier projector ! | This is a picture of the rear row of seating. Notice the elevated platform these chairs sit on, making vieiwng perfect. These chairs are plush, black leather and AWESOME. They each have a cupholder, storage area and removable snack tray. The coolest feature is the electronic recline button. Very smooth, very quite, very nice! In the furniture stores, they cost about $1500 each. The TAH wife is a super Internet shopper so we bought them ( same brand) online for about half the price! Shipping by truck from Tenn took a few weeks so plan accordingly ! The cat was quickly and carefully removed. NOTE: Always close the theater door! |

| Here is a shot from the screen looking towards the back of the room. YOu can see the surround and rear surround speakers in this pic. The theater is usually 100% dark. Sky lights in the room are blacked out with window tint. All doors and windows have black shades which block ALL light. This darkness really adds to the picture quality. The color tones and texture of the walls reflect little to no light. |
