Until now, the only solutions for failing septic systems were very expensive, time consuming and required excavating your lawn.  Hurricane Drain offers soil fracturing as your solution.  Here is how it works.

Here is a diagram of how the Terralift 2000 works, as it digs through impervious and pervious soil

Hurricane Drain, Inc. uses a long, narrow probe and an integral pneumatic hammer to penetrate the soil to depths from six to nine feet, depending upon the depth of your absorbtion area.  Air is then built to a pressure exceeding 300 psi inside our compression chamber, and explosively forced into the ground at the tip of the probe.  This creates a network of fissures and cracks which breaks up the biomat, or clogging layer, and loosens compact soil in the leach field.

Hurricane Drain, Inc. adds a new dimension to the process by using a second tank and parallel system that simultaneously injects non-biodegradable polystyrene beads into the fissures and cracks that have been opened.  This maintains the passages for the percolation of liquid away from the clogged layer of soil.

The process is repeated every five feet throughout the absorbtion area as indicated in the diagram on the right.

The pellets keep air and water passages opened to ensure proper leaching and transpiration on a long-term basis.
