Jacqueline Masloff:
Technologist, Teacher, Writer and Although my looks and actions belie my age, I have been working for the past 30 years of my life. I began my working career as an architect, after graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Having grown up in New York City, I moved to Boston where I thought the architectural opportunities were many and did land a job in small firm as a draftsperson. However, I found myself more technically inclined than design oriented and turned to computers, hoping to combine that knowledge with architecture. Much to my dismay, architects were not quite ready for implementing computer technology into their work at the time, so I pursued a Master of Science degree in computer science, hoping to enter that field upon graduation. I did and more can be read about what I did for 20 years in the computer technology field in my Resume. My last job in the field I thought would be a dream come true, yet the Internet bubble burst and I decided to seek more stable employment. I spent a year studying at Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts to become a licensed math teacher, yet my technology background overcame me and I became a teacher of technology at both the middle and high school grades. I now find myself seeking such a position for the rest of my teaching career. This year, however, has enabled me to pursue my writing interests and I have taken up some freelance work as well as enrolled in a course on writing children's books.
