ANOTHER KERRY FLIP-FLOP? OR NOT? Supporters of John Kerry's quest for the presidency, most notably Michael Moore and Terry McAuliff, have, without any substantiation, labeled George W. Bush as a "deserter" and claimed that he "went AWOL" from the Alabama Air National Guard in the 1970s. Now that this absurdity has been put to rest, we wonder what his supporters would have to say about another occurence that took place about the same time. USA Today posted the following report on February 11, 2004 (CLICK HERE to see the entire report):
Perhaps they would say that it was just a "youthful indiscretion", which exemplifies Kerry's characteristic of flip-flopping on important issues. On the other hand, his 1995 Senate bill to decimate the CIA might indicate that on at least these issues his positions have not flip-flopped. In December 2003, John Kerry made a foreign-policy speech to the Council on Foreign Relations, in which he he characterized the President's War On Terror as being "the most arrogant, inept, reckless and ideological foreign policy in modern history." In the speech he went on to promise that during his first 100 days in office, he would meet with foreign leaders around the world to apologize for America's "radically wrong" policies in the War on Terror, and will promote a spirit of "cooperation and compromise" with friend and foe alike. He stated that his goal was to have America "rejoin the community of nations". Would that include putting our military under its command, Mr. Kerry? I wonder if he would apologize to the Saudis and the Iranians for creating a threatening situation in Afghanistan where women and girls have now been given the "radical" opportunities to work outside of the home and attend school, where a nation of tribal warfare is now being unified and democracy is being introduced for the first time? Will he apologize to France, Germany, and Russia for removing a brutal dictator that they supported, one who raped and murdered his own people, supported terrorists throughout the Middle East, threatened his neighbors, and at the same time served as a "cash cow" to these economic opportunists and ideological pragmatists? Senator Kerry, would Jane Fonda help you in this effort as well?
