When I get a chance I'll update this. Recently bought a 1994 Chevy K3500, 1-ton, crew cab, long box, dually truck. It's a mammoth, and the guy that I bought it from swapped in a Cummins 5.9L out of a Dodge truck.
I drove this truck for much of the summer of 2011, and everything seems to working out great with the swap. I had the NV4500 transmission rebuilt, purchased a new borg warner transfer case, and put those in myself. I worked out a few bugs with the power steering, and now that works pretty well as well.
The truck also came equipped with some very large tires, and I removed them, opting for a more highway friendly size for the time being. I intend to use the truck for hauling, not off roading. Looks smaller, but works better I think.
Check back for pictures when I get into the transmission fix, and later working more on the already swapped engine.
