Kriesel Diesel - All Things Automotive

About Me

Hi, I'm Jacob Kriesel, the owner of this web page.

I am a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Engineering Technology. The degree is sought after by vehicle design enthusiasts, and involves topics such as testing chassis handling and dynamics, horsepower, fuel efficiency, as well as emissions.

During the program, I have worked with government agencies to provide a hybrid platform vehicle that runs with the addition of ethanol based fuels, as well as additional battery cell longevity. Other projects have included chassis design and testing, engine development, and alternative fuel research.

After graduating, I received the opportunity to work for Cummins Power Generation, as a Commercial Genset Engineering Technician. In this position, I help with the research and development of new emergency and prime power generators. I work with engines mainly from as small as a 3-cylinder diesel up to 78L diesel engines.

In my free time, I enjoy working outside, whether it be working on the house with its various projects or working on a vehicle in the garage. I'm sure to have a few projects going on at any given time. Of these projects, I have posted pictures of various things, such as the offroading adventures I encounter, the old International pickup truck I'm building, and even the toying with of the fuel efficiency of my diesel Volkswagen. Please take a look around at what I've posted for pictures on the other pages within this site.

Also in my offtime from work, I work with some excel spreadsheets to make my life easier with calculating various things. Most of these spreadsheets started as something very simple that would just give me an idea about something. As they get used more and more, I add more and more to them also, and the resulting spreadsheet I have posted on this site also. Please use them as you wish, and let me know if I can alter them in any way for a better outcome.
