About Me

Steve and I married September of 84 and moved to
Connecticut with the Navy. Here we purchased our
first house (for only $35,000). Can you even imagine?
At this duty station we helped decommission the USS
Nautilus. In 1986 we were transferred with the
command to Kittery, ME to the shipyard. We had an
opportunity to meet Steve’s relatives while living
here and start our family history. Candice was born
in March of 87. While here we lived in both New
Hampshire and ME (at different times). We were
involved in decommissioning the USS Albacore and
creating the memorial park. During our time on the
East coast I was involved in the Navy Wives Clubs of
America and Ombudsman. We took every opportunity to
travel the East coast and see the sights. In 1988 we
returned to Northern California and were stationed at
Mare Island in Vallejo (Near Napa). We lived here for
6 years. Steve and I both became Christians and
Brandon was born in 1993. I was our church assistant
senior youth pastor and Steve and I were the church
activity directors. We were very involved with church
during this station. We also spent a lot of time at
Lake Berryessa on our boat. In 1994 we went through
the base closure and our command was transferred to
Bangor Naval Base near Bremerton, WA. We lived here
for 7 years. We thought we would retire here until
the rain wouldn’t stop. We even built our dream home.
I became very involved in the community with Girls
Scouts, Navy Submarine Birthday Ball Committee (all 7
years) and served on a mission to Maszatlan. When the
rain became too much we high tailed it back to CA. We
now live in Oxnard where I am an Accounting Supervisor
for Cars 4 Causes. I belong to Soroptimist
International, Girls Scouts and volunteer my time as
treasurer for PTA, Girls Scouts, and Mariners. Steve
and I are Neighborhood Block Captains for Neighborhood
Watch, coached Little League baseball and Pop Warner
cheerleading. We enjoy working on our house and cars
and spend time riding our Harley. We’ve also spent
some time over the last 2 years since we’ve been back
in CA reconnecting with old friends and making lots of
new ones. We’re involved in the Renassaince Faire
which takes up most of the summer. Steve is still in
the Navy and will retire in 2004 at the same time our
daughter will graduate from high school. Next year we
will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Life has
been great.
