THE DRAFT ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Draft Wednesday March 29, 2006, 6:00 p.m. Centre Village Party Room 16 teams in the league, full franchise fee ($50.00) paid before draft. Draft order to be determined by draw on night of the draft. Draft will proceed 1 to 12, 12 to 1, 1 to 12, etc. 17 rounds (18th roster spot to be filled with 1st Supplementary Draft) You must fill the following 9 positions by the end of the 9th round. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Outfielder_____________________ Please note: Outfielder_____________________ ONLY ONE PITCHING STAFF ALLOWED. Outfielder_____________________ 1st Base _____________________ 2nd Base _____________________ Shortstop _____________________ 3rd Base _____________________ Catcher _____________________ Pitching _____________________ All players, including AL DH's will have 1 positional designation at the draft. In the event that they fail to play said position at least once in 21 games, they will lose their status as a positional player and only be eligible to DH. DH's can reacquire positional status only by playing regularly (4 out of 7 games) at a position. The final 7 rounds can be used for any position except a 2nd pitching staff. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Suggested positions: Outfielder_____________________ Outfielder_____________________ Outfielder_____________________ 1st Base _____________________ 2nd Base _____________________ Shortstop _____________________ 3rd Base _____________________ Catcher _____________________ Rosters will consist of 17 players plus pitching staff. |
SUPPLEMENTARY DRAFTS, DISABLED LIST, AND TRADES ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Supplementary drafts (one player can be picked up and one player dropped) will occur after weeks 1, 2, and 3, then every other week. Draft order will be in reverse order of YTD points, then reverse order of wins and inversely subsorted by draft number. The team with the lowest YTD point total, fewest wins and highest draft number draws 1st, the team with the highest YTD point total, most wins and lowest draft number draws 12th. At the end of the first supplementary draft all teams must carry 17 players and 1 pitching staff on their roster. Draft day will be Wednesday by 9:00 a.m. starting with April 13th. Email picks to sperry@mn.rr.com or call Steve at 612-287-9141. There will be a total of 12 players maximum taken on draft day. There will be no trades allowed to improve your draft position. Players drafted have to be on active major league rosters. Disabled List: A player can be placed on DL if he has not been appearing in the box scores. Players can be activated from the DL at anytime. However, if you do activate a player, you must drop a player to return your roster to 17 players. Players on your DL list must be activated of course if they start playing again. If a player on the DL begins appearing in boxscores, he must be activated before the SECOND supplemental draft following his activation (unless he goes on the DL again, of course.) Any such player not activated by the second supplemental draft may be claimed "off waivers" by any other team as part of that draft. Trades will be player(s) for player(s) only. No draft picks or cash. Once a player is traded, the player cannot be traded back to the same team for a period of 6 weeks. To maintain the integrity of the game, all trades must be approved by the board of commissioners. Trade deadline is midnight Sunday of week 19. There will be a trade cap of 24 players/team for the year. |
LEAGUE PLAY (Starts April 7)
---------------------------------------
Each team turns in a starting lineup by E-mail
no later than by 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
If no lineup is turned in, the previous week's lineup will be used.
Starting lineup includes:
3 Outfielders, 1st Base, 2nd Base, Shortstop, 3rd Base, Catcher, DH,
and the Pitching Staff. DH can be from any position.
Each team also will designate 3 bench players (any position) to be
used as tiebreakers. Turn in lineups by e-mail to: jake@jakenmel.com
or call Jake at 651-771-1958 (or call Jason at 612-225-3457).
Play will include only Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games.
-------- ----------- ----------
Each day will begin a new game. 3 games/weekend.
Points are scored as follows:
-----------------------------
Plus 1 point for each RUN scored by your player.
Plus 1 point for each RBI scored by your player.
Minus 1 point for each RUN ALLOWED by your team pitching staff.
(Includes both earned runs and unearned runs.)
|
Rain Out Rule - If a pitching staff is rained out, that pitching staff receives the same pitching score as the opponents pitching staff for the day, up to a maximum of 4 runs. Tie Breaker ------------- In the event of a tie game, total runs & RBIs for the 3 bench players (in aggregate) will be used to break the tie. If the game is still tied, refer to HRs, 3Bs, 2Bs, then total hits by the starters. If still tied, team with the lowest draft number wins. |
Positional Eligibility ----------------------------------- You may add to a player's positional eligibility, if that player has been regularly playing in another position. Regular is defined as 4 out of 7 consecutive games in which that player appears in the box score. Once qualified at another position, the player may be freely inserted into the lineup at any position for which they are eligible under our 1 in 21 rule. Once a player fails to play 1 in 21 at a position, they lose their status there. Double-Header Rule ------------------------- In the case of double-headers the second game will not count, unless it is needed to complete three games for the weekend. In that case both games will count. The first game of the double-header will count for the day and the second will be used as the makeup game if needed. If there are two double-headers on the weekend, the first double-header will be used if needed to complete the 3 game series. If only 2 games are scheduled for the weekend only those games will count unless the 3rd game is played either Thursday prior to the weekend or Monday after the weekend. In that case the Thursday or Monday game will be used as the makeup game for the Fri Sat or Sun game that was not scheduled. |

Playoff Games ---------------- Playoff Dates - Dates for playoff games will be determined after the regular season has ended. We will look for dates when all 30 Major League Teams are scheduled to play. If there are 20 or more full dates left, the wild card series will be best of 7. If there are less than 20 full games left the wild card series will be best of 5. Supplementary Drafts for the Playoffs: Drafts will continue throughout the playoffs with one draft prior to each playoff series. Supplementary drafts in the playoffs however will be in direct order of standings - (win/loss record, then highest point total) not reverse order. Wild Card Teams: There will be one AL Wild Card Team and one NL Wild Card Team. The wild card teams will be the two teams with the highest point totals finishing out of 1st or 2nd place in their divisions. The Wild Card Playoffs: The AL Division 1st Place team gets a bye. The NL Division 1st Place team gets a bye. The Al Wild Card plays the AL Division 2nd Place team. The NL Wild Card plays the NL Division 2nd Place team. The Wild Card Playoffs will be a 7 game series if we have enough dates, otherwise a 5 game series. The League Championship Series: The winners of the Wild Card Series play the two teams with the bye. The League Championships are 7 game series. World Series: After the American and National Leagues Champions have been determined a 7 game World Series will follow. The playoff games are played in the same way as the regular season except we will allow backups for each position. If the starter does not appear in the boxscore for the day, the backup's results will count. The backup must be from the same position - ie, Starting 2B and Backup 2B. If niether starter or backup plays the result will be zero points. Play will continue every day until a champion has been determined. 1. Lineups can be changed for each game. 2. Ties will be broken by: Total Hits, then Total Homeruns, then Total Pitching Strikeouts. |
