Chapter 1  Assignments and Announcements

Announcements:   WELCOME   BACK     !!!!!!

1. You are required to get a scientific calculator for this class.

2. This year we will be interfacing various probes to PC's to obtain real time data in lab.

3. Also new this year will be online testing.

4. Please be reminded to cover your textbook by 09/08/09.

5. E school book grades will be turned on for parents or guardians to see on or about 09/15/09.

6. We will be in the lab on 09/14/09  and 09/15/09. Please dress accordingly.  NO open toe shoes !!!!!!!

Assignments:

1.  The signature page of the syllabus is due 09/08/09. Please make sure your parents read the course syllabus.

2.   The take home chapter 1 test is due 09/08/09.

3.  All chapter 1 notes and worksheets are due 09/09/09.

4.  Lab safety contract is due 09/11/09 signed by both you and your parents.

5.  Lab safety test will be conducted on 09/10/09.

6. Lab 1.1 Observation of a Candle is due 09/22/09.


Chapter 2  Assignments and Announcements
Announcements:
1. You are required to get a scientific calculator for this class.

2. 
We will be in the lab on 09/21/09  and 09/22/09. Please dress accordingly.  NO open toe shoes !!!!!!!

3.  This chapter is a review of various scientific mathematic skills. We will be testing out after each section, instead of the entire chapter.

Assignments:
1. Lab 1.1 Observation of a Candle is due 09/22/09.

2. Lab 2.1 Density is due 09/29/09.

3.  Quiz section 2.1 (Metrics, SI System, & Density) on 09/18/09.

4.  Worksheets for section 2.1 are also due on 09/18/09.

5.  Starting section 2.2 Part A on 09/23/09. This section is on scientific notation.  The homework is the practice problems on page 41 : 11,12 ; page 42: 13,14 ; page 43 : 15,16.  This is due 09/24/09.

Answers to the odd problems are in the back of your Chemistry textbook.
