Extempore is designed for students in the 2nd through 12th grades. It consists of a teaching unit and a creative problem solving competition. The teaching unit may be used for one week or several and includes a variety of projects and activities to develop creativity and higher-level thinking skills.

The competition includes four thematic competition Arena Challenges - Showtime, Engineering Feats, Fine Tuning, & Perspective.

Extemporé Competition also includes:
AHA!- three quick problems to solve with your team in an extemporaneous fashion
Scholar - four rounds of forty questions each having to do with the overall theme
Thinkers' Hall - three strategy games
Sync Me A Song - lip sync competition
