With their ongoing activities in Washington and their home districts this page needs lots of updating to add the new crooks. I just don't have the time and it makes me ill every time I start to update it again! Political party makes no difference - Mark Twain was correct!!!

Fascinating what the last few years has shown as a result of the baby boom generation. Our parents wanted more for us and see what we have done!So now we have Mel Reynolds (D), Jim Wright (D), Dan Rostenkowski (D), Robert Torricelli (D), James Traficant (D), and Duke Cunningham (R) to this list of recent HEROs! Recently we heard that even though they are convicted of robbing the US citizens of our hard earned money and they are sitting in their plush prison cells, we are still paying them their congressional retirement pay. It is no wonder that they turn to a life of crime!!! Now we have Congressman William Jefferson (D-LA), who is on film taking $100K. Both the Senate and House leadership are decrying the actions that the Justice Dept had to take after waiting 6 months for Jefferson to respond to a subpoena. Seems they don't want any law officer to be able to go into their offices anytime. Sounds more than a little cozy to me. Are they trying to protect all of their "wrong doings" at once!?!?! News flash - Apparently taking money from US citizens was not enough for Torricelli, apparently he is on the list of those who received Oil for Food bribes from Saddam too!!! Pro-Crime PoliticiansFact: A 1996 study out of the University of Chicago Law School analyzed crime data from every U.S. county over a 15 year period and found that violent crime fell after states made it legal to carry concealed weapons. States passing concealed-carry laws have reduced their murder rates by 8.5%, rapes by 5%, aggravated assaults by 7% and robberies by 3%. Fact: A 1997 Justice Department study found that as many as 1.5 million people use a gun in self-defense every year. Other studies have found as many as 2.5 million self-defense uses, with savings to society of up to $38.9 billion annually. Since the facts show that easing restrictions on carrying concealed weapons reduces crime and saves lives, those who oppose such laws apparently wish to promote crime. On this basis, I have therefore compiled a list of politicians who in my opinion at great cost to society, use their political power to help support criminal activity. Actually, its not too surprising that our politicians have no real interest in reducing crime after all, a lot of them are criminals themselves. An investigation by Capitol Hill Blue, (no longer online) a web publication that covers federal politics, reveals an astonishingly large number of wife-beaters, drunks, shoplifters, check-bouncers, business failures, and drug abusers in the U.S. House and Senate. A remarkable number of them seem to have spent as much time in a jail cell as on Capitol Hill. In 1998 alone, 84 were stopped for drunk driving, but released after they claimed Congressional immunity. Note however that Article. I. Section. 6. of the Constitution says: The Senators and Representatives ... shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses,...
