After 8 long years enduring the embarrassments brought upon our White House
by William Jefferson Clinton, all I can say is "Good Riddance".
From his first answers about his personal history,
character, and relationships, Clinton showed he could not tell the
truth.
He denied using marijuana, denied his participation in Anti-American
activities while at Oxford, and denied his involvement in various questionable
activities while governor of Arkansas.
Whitewater and other
activities kept each Congress and the press embroiled in charges and
countercharges throughout his presidency. Clinton's sexual
escapades established new benchmarks, he even was able to establish oral
sex as non-sexual so that today's teenagers have become new style virgins
(oral sex doesn't count!)
After Gennifer
Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Juanita Broaddrick, and Kathleen
Willey and his other missteps, the American people still wanted to give
Clinton the benefit of the doubt and their support. However, all we could
really do, is wonder if we could trust anyone we elect!
As he prepared to complete his presidency, he had his friends request illegal gifts
by registering at Washington's fine department stores. His final answers to the American people when he left the White House,
was to remove furnishings donated to the White House and sign questionable pardons, most notably Mark Rich. On top of this, Clinton
wanted to move into
a New York City office that would cost the American People more than all
the other living presidents' office costs combined. Each of these
final acts of Bill Clinton received angry rebukes in the press and
prompted additional investigations that continued well after he had left
the White House.
Throughout all of this, the American People continued to show their
capability and desire to forgive Bill Clinton.
There is no denial of Clinton's intelligence and communication
skills. He truly could have been a great president if he had focused
his skills on the needs of the American People and not on his own desires
for power.
Bill Clinton's response to the American People has been to show that he
has no respect for the office of the President and more importantly that
he has total disrespect for the American
People.
For this ongoing embarrassment, We, the American People, should
"never forget"!
