Oh Yes-my waistline continues to suffer-but what a way to go...
Italian delicacies and seafood keep us enjoying our culinary escapades!!
Did you like that - well try these!!!

DINING OUT IN BOSTON has always been an ethnic adventure, but today there are good new restaurants opening everyday.  Here are some good sources to find restaurants that you might like:

COOKING AT HOME is always fun.

We love shopping for the foodstuffs at our local farm-stores and orchards and in Boston's North End.

Here are some great web stores:

  • FoodTV is entertaining and FoodTV.com publishes all of the recipes:  http://www.foodtv.com/
  • Fortuna's Sausage Co in Rhode Island is one of this world's gifts.  Try their fresh Tuscano sausages if you want to fall in love: http://www.nvo.com/soupy
  • How about some buffalo or elk, this is the place in the heart of montana:  http://www.shopworks.com/msmeats/
  • If you want a special collection of Olive Oils and condimentos try this: http://www.vinoeolio.com
  • Bar none, Penzey's is the best source of spices there is:  http://www.penzeys.com/
  • Salumeria Italiana is a great source for Italian prosciutto and condiments.  www.salumeriaitaliana.com
  • So chocolate is your thing!  One of the countries best chocolatiers has a great cafe on Brattle Street in Cambridge.  L A Burdick's can solve those longings from delicious hot chocolate to a wonderful little mouse! Try this: http://laburdick.com/ You can order from the web site too.

FAVORITE RESTAURANTS -- I will add some links to pages on my favorite restaurants here:

  • When you come to Massachusetts on a chilly night, you can REALLY enjoy your evening here >http://www.stonehedgeinn.com/
  • North Shore Seafood is wonderful - try these!
    • Woodmans of Essex Main Street (Rte. 133), Essex, MA 01929 Tel. 978-768-6451.  The home of fried clams.  Try here or the Clam Box up the street!!
    • Village Restaurant 55 Main Street, Essex, MA 01929 Tel. 978-768-6400.  This is the upscale fish restaurant in Essex.  Not fancy, but great fish (much more than clams!)
  • Fall in Love with real Italian food in Boston's North End.  I don't care what your family lineage is, you will enjoy strolling down Hanover Street.  Listen to the Italian residents, have an espresso in one of the sidewalk cafe's or a gelato or pastry.

Click here is a review from the Phantom Gourmet of the Phantom's North End Picks

Here are my favorites in the North End!  All of these restaurants understand the importance of fresh ingredients.  Most are intimate and focused on real food enjoyment and some are included because of their ambiance!:

    • Massimino's, 207 Endicott St., Boston, MA.  Great little back street haunt - very intimate!
    • Restaurante Fillippo, 283 Causeway St., Boston MA.  Great ambiance and wonderful food.
    • Trattoria Il Panino, 11 Parmenter St., Boston, MA. There are several different locations including 2 in the north end.  Wonderful variety and very fresh ingredients.
    • Lucia Ristorante, 415 Hanover St., Boston, MA.  Intimate and delicious!!!
    • Papa Razzi is a successful local chain of Italian trattorias that you can find all over the area.  If you can't get to the North End, Pappa Razzi is a great place with consistent high quality and reasonable prices.
