Please sign my Like most families we have many heritage flags to fly over our house | The BT Challenge is one of the world's premier and most difficult yacht races. It completely encircles the globe and will take months to complete. Simply speaking, each leg of the race is laid out to be taken at the worst time of the year for that leg, running against prevailing tides and winds. For example, the first leg was across the Atlantic, against the prevailing westerly winds during hurricane season. From Boston south, the race would again be into hurricanes and then reach the "Calms" around the equator where winds can be dead for weeks. This is no greater test of the power of Teams!! The First leg began in Southhampton, England and ended in Boston in September 2000. The crews rested and worked on their boats for a week and then they headed for Buenos Aires. Their Boston visit was exciting and a source of many wonderful and colorful pictures. Time spent at Rowes Wharf and Castle Island with my camera was rewarded with many great shots. I recommend everyone to read stories about the race and actual letters from the crews at WWW.BTCHALLENGE.COM. BT completed on July 1, 2001LG Flatron is the Global Winner
