Oh yes we are slaves to our dogs! Joan and I have had poodles throughout our married life. They are so intelligent that they have trained us very well! We started with Perkie, a cute little black toy poodle, that Joan had when we married. Perky was great fun and when Chardy (Chardonnay) joined us in 1985, Perky welcomed him with typical poodle joy.
After Perky left us, Joan knew that Chardy needed another companion (and us too) so we began a search for a chocolate toy poodle. We found Beau (Beaujolais) at a breeder in New Hampshire and brought him home. Soon we found out that Beau was going to be larger than a typical toy and we learned about miniature poodles.
Beau and Chardy kept us laughing and crying for many wonderful years. Chardy lived to ripe old age and was one of the most loving and lovable dogs ever!!! Chardy is gone now but we still think of him often, read his story here. Beau survived for several years after Chardy. He was not healthy after his diseases but he was a real trooper! You can read Beau's story to see how he beat his horrible disease. Beau reached the end of his fight in August 2005 after 17 wonderful years with us - here is his memorial. Rory and Teague are our current kids. Here they are below and you can see more pictures of them at the links on the left!
