James Lee Weaver's Family Tree

James Lee Weaver [Parents]

Teresa de Jesus Toral [Parents]

They had the following children:

  M i James Ronald Weaver
M ii Lee Franklin Weaver was born on 12 May 1970 in Balboa, Canal Zone, Panama. He died on 7 Mar 1972 in Columbus, Muscogee, Ga. He was buried on 8 Mar 1972 in Lanett, Chambers, Al.

Frankie was born 12 May 1970 at the Gorgas Army Hospital in the Panama Canal Zone. Terry and Ronnie were living in Panama while I was in Viet Nam for one year. In Feb 1972, my mother took Terry, Ronnie and Frankie to Lanett, AL to visit family. They were at Aunt Catherine Callaway's house in West Point when Frankie went into convulsions about 7:00 PM. They called the Fire Department and they took him to the George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Langdale, AL. His condition worsened for about two days and they transferred him to Columbus Hospital in Columbus, GA. His doctor was Dr. Louis Hozuri, the famous neurologist who would have operated on President Kennedy if he had survived his assassination. Frankie was in the hospital about ten days before he passed away. They stated the cause of death to be Encephalitis but since that time with additional research and knowledge I believe it was more likely Reyes Syndrome. He was buried in the Burke Family Plot in Lanett Cemetery.
  F iii Sara Bettina Weaver

James Curry "Ted" Weaver [Parents] was born on 14 Jan 1916 in Shiloh, Chambers, Al. He died on 29 Sep 1987 in Crystal River, Citrus, Fl. He was buried on 1 Oct 1987 in Lanett, Chambers, Al. He married Sara Weldon Burke on 23 Nov 1935 in Lanett, Chambers, Al.

Ted was born 14 Jan 1916 in a small one-room house in Shiloh, AL, just west of Milltown and near Leverett's Mill. His father taught school in a one-room schoolhouse near there. As a small child he had a pet chicken rather than a dog. They moved to Lanett, AL when he was about twelve years old. His father taught math and was the football coach at Lanett High School. He was a Boy Scout and his father was the Scout Master. His father moved to LaFayette about 1934 and they lived across the highway from the cemetery. His father was the chief deputy sheriff and Ted spent a lot of time around the jail where he met some interesting people. That may have set him on a better track to get out and make something of his life rather than becoming just another "lint-head." He married Sara whose father was the head electrician in the Lanett Mill. Ted got a job in the mill as an electrician. When WW2 started he joined the Navy and was promoted to EM1 before being discharged with injuries received when his ship was sunk in the Pacific. He spent some time convalescing in Sun Valley, ID. After returning home, he went back to work as an electrician in the mill while attending Auburn University on the GI Bill. His major was Electrical Engineering. In 1949 he took a job with GA Power and we moved to Brookhaven, GA. We stayed there only one year and he took a job with FL Power and we moved to St. Petersburg, FL. After we moved, he quit FL Power and went to work with G&H Construction CO. installing high-tension power lines. In 1958 he started his own electrical contracting business. Most of his work was in upper Pinellas County so in Dec 1958 we built a big house in Curlew, on the outskirts of Palm Harbor. We had a cabin on the Withlacoochee River in Inglis and after I joined the Navy in 1960, my sister married in 1961 and my brother moved to NC in 1962, Mom and Dad moved to Inglis. He continued his business in that area and was designated the examiner for electrical licenses. He took a job with Bruce Norris Company about 1970 and worked around their facilities in Homosassa until about 1976 when retired due to his failing health. We had a cabin on Lake Martin at Dadeville, AL and Mom and Dad enjoyed visiting there as often as possible. He was in the hospital in Alexander City, AL many times during their stays at the cabin. His health declined until he could no longer make the trips to AL and he died in the Seven Rivers Hospital at Crystal River in Sep 1987.
