Volunteer's Home Alert - 1890

The men of Phoenix Engine 3, New Brunswick Fire Department
had bells such as this in the home of each member. At the
same time the police received the alarm so did the members.
Thus, they were on the way to the station before other
stations were reciving the alarm. Phoenix 3 often clanged
by another station just as those doors opened - much to the
dismay and puzzlement of the other company. Only Phoenix 3
had these bells.
