THE DAY BEGINS...
An educational adventure awaits as we board our research vessel for a five and a

half hour science cruise, The vessel leaves from Pier 55 on Seattle's Waterfront. After a
brief orientation we introduce the staff biologists and ship's crew, then review safety rules,
and outline the day's activities.

MEET PUGET SOUND
How was Puget Sound formed? Why is it so biologically productive? What makes this

body of water unique? What kinds of animals call it home? We explore these and other
questions. Special attention is given to animal feeding types and pollution factors
threatening Puget Sound's health.

"... This is my sixth time using your program, which I hold in the highest regard Everything you do is effective, engaging, professional, and worthwhile! Your curriculum and your message is important and encourages sensitivity to environmental issues which will hopefully lend to better stewardship of the planet in the future "Ken Newkirk Selah SOAR Program
