SEARCH ENGINES:
Google - The standard by which other search engines are measured.
Amazon Books On-Line - Even if you don't buy here, their search engine is useful for locating rare or unusual books.
ABE Books -The successor to "Bibliofind," which got absorbed by Amazon (who now addes a premium to the price of each book).
The Drudge Report - You either hate Matt Drudge or you love him; but his page has lots of news and columnist links.
NERD STUFF:
Labianca's List of Astronomy Sites - Name says it all (although I have no idea who "Labianca" is...).
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Home Page - Interesting from time to time.
NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory - Planet pictures, etc.
NASA List of Robot Web Links - Lots of links to explore--if you're into robots.
Micro-Robots - Teeny little robots, in kit form. My favorite: Mark Tilden's "MAGBOT".
Automata Gallery - Neat old precursors to the "robot"...
The Rolling Ball Web Page - Ball Bearings. Tracks. Little things that move. This is what technology is all about!
The Grey Company's Trebuchet Page - Don't know what a trebuchet is? You are not civilized! (don't miss Ron Toms' "To Ride a Trebuchet").
George Goble's Page - See what happens when a backyard barbecue meets 3 gallons of liquid oxygen. Kids, don't try this at home!.
JAPANESE SWORD STUFF:
The Japanese Sword Index - Richard Stein's comprehensive collection of information and links related to Japanese swords.
The REAL Japan Sword - The best publicly-viewable collection of swords in Tokyo (and that includes the National Museum in Ueno and the NBTHK Museum). See a photo of the storefront in the "Japan Photos" section of this website.
The Fred Lohman Company- Mail-order supplies, right here in Portland, Oregon.
WEIRD STUFF:
The X-Ray Archive - "Up the down staircase".. or ... "It seemed like a good idea at the time..."
Archie McPhee - "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men."
June's Ghostwatcher Page - Help June track down those pesky ghosts by watching the cameras. Or, send June some Haldol.[note: June seems to be on hiatus]
The Death Clock - The site to hit when you're feeling especially cheery.
