2004 Invasion Charity Information

Brian Fye started a really good thing with the first Invasion by selecting a local charity and asking everyone to give a $2 dollar per car donation to the charity as an enterance fee for the Invasion. We also donated $2 from every Invasion t-shirt sold to the charity. The Ronald McDonald House in Boise received a few hundred dollars. (Brian, do you remember the exact amount?)

We were proud to continue that tradition with the 2004 Invasion. We again selected the Ronald McDonald House, this time in Hershey, as the official charity of the 2004 Invasion.

We collected a $2 per car donation at the gate and donated $2 from every Invasion shirt sold and 25 cents from each dash plaque/magnet. We were able to donate $420 to the Hershey Ronald McDonald House. Thanks everyone.

General Information about the Hershey Ronald McDonald House

The Hershey House is one of over 232 Ronald McDonald Houses worldwide. The House provides comfort, support, and rest for families of seriously ill children in a compassionate and cozy, home-like environment. Each year the House serves over 1,000 out-of-town families whose children are patients at Penn State Children's Hospital. We help keep families together when they need each other the most. Stays at the Hershey Ronald McDonald House are completely free-of-charge.

Opened in 1984 by a group of concerned physicians, community members and McDonald's Owner/Operators, each night the House provides bedrooms with private baths for up to 20 families. Guests share a living room, family room, Internet access, a full kitchen, dining room, toys and playroom, outdoor playground, and laundry rooms. Within the House, families who are often under severe stress, receive caring support from volunteers, and from fellow guests.
